So Bullies wanted pick 5 for a midfielder. It could be Brayshaw or Cerra.

Glad we didn't trade it.

Am I the only one who thinks that deal is a massive win for us?

You slide 4 picks back and get an All Australian in 2015 who kicked 56 goals as a 21 year old. In a system of where we haven't had anyone kick more than 49 goals in over 5 years. You then give pick 23 to GWS for Wilson all while retaining a top 10 pick?

Still can get a KPD player like Naughton or a quality midfield player

Not sure if you read that right.

It was our pick 5 and Crozier.
for
Pick 9 and 23.

Stringer wasn't involved.

When you put it like that I agree it sounds good. We must be up to something.
Hogan to announce wanting to move home 5 mins before the end of today.✔

GWS on the record said anything below 20 this year draft you won't get it done . I still think GWS want some point for this year draft to get Shipley and Powell after they use their first two pick .
My prediction
Freo future 2nd and this year third rd go to GWs.
GwS future 3 /4 go to Freo.

I don't think we got Stringer out of it

Just to clarify GWS have said they think Wilson is worth a late 1st rounder (eg pick 16-20). To my knowledge they haven't said they want an early 1st round pick or bust? Therefore we don't necessarily need to find a single pick in that range, we just need to provide the equivalent trade value. Future 2nd + #40/#41 is that value and we might get a future 3rd/4th back in the deal. I can't see us touching #5 or 2018 1st rounder. And I'd doubt we'd want to involve a 3rd party - otherwise McDougall wouldn't be suggesting it could get done this afternoon.

Motlop to Port will give Geelong comp pick of 35.

I think it is likely Melbourne and Freo will swap 47 and Balic. Maybe one of those later picks (79, 83) will be involved to sweeten for Melbourne:

We will then have 41,42,47,57,60

We will have to part way with either 47 or 42 for Matera. If it is 42 perhaps we swap 82 with GCS 76.

Then I think 47 and 76 is added to 2018 2nd pick for Wilson. Maybe we can squeeze back pick 65.

Leaving us with 5,41,57,60,65

Based on what McDougall said, he's done and said all he can to get to us, so that changes the dynamic as far as I initially understood our position to be in this trade. I just assumed that GWS would offer to give us a reaming and we'd oblige.

Don't remember seeing him play.

Sydney midfielder Daniel Robinson has expressed interest in leaving the club as he searches for greater opportunities elsewhere.

AFL.com.au understands the 23-year-old, who played five games this season, has approached the Swans to see if a trade can be arranged.

my guess Matera , Freo Future 3 rd . This year Freo third and fourth are useless to GC .

It was said that there are lots of mechanics to the Matera trade (I'll find the quote later) which makes me think that it possibly includes us trying to get into the second round this year?

Pick 22 for 2nd round pick and Matera

Pick 22 too GWS for Wilson

Nope, confirmed by Freo on twitter last week that Grey is on the senior list.

Look up the tweet about Sheridan and Grey re-signing... its a reply under there (6 days ago)
Not to get too stuck on the semantics, but nowhere does the article or headline mention that he's been upgraded to the senior list specifically, for 2018. A 1 year extension can still be for rookies - Uebergang received a 1 year extension for 2017.

Someone asked on the Docker's post if he was on the senior list and they replied stating that he was.

I thought he was a rookie as well, but Freo twitter account confirmed he was on senior list.

He is also showing on the senior list on the website

Watts obviously holding out on his preferred destination because its a smoke screen for Hogan as soon as the Wilson deal gets done.
Hogan comes out on the weekend - wants out - make me a Docker, Watts stays at Melbs.
Freo and Melbs hash out the deal next week.
Heppell deal Thursday 11:55pm
Lloydy you cunning dog!
