Traded Jake Stringer [traded to Essendon]

All options are in play until I hear that a deal is done as far I'm concerned.

Impressive confidence from you though m8. Just to get a gauge on it, were you this confident after the AFL tribunal cleared the 34?

I was doing cartwheels when the afl tribunal cleared us. I’m not sure how that’s even slightly relevant to this situation.

You just keep on burying your head in that sand.

John Ralph lol. Trade whisperer has more credibility than old More Mayo John
How can Ralphy have negative credibility. Tony Sheahan is a gutter rat.

I still think he goes, but I highly doubt it will be because of claims for his mental health. I do think it'll be done before Thursday though, it's holding up other deals.
There is a few stories going around that Connors has been in frequent conversation with Paul Marsh and the AFLPA regarding the mental health card. Connors is well known for his tactics and ends up getting the players to where they want. I personally don’t agree with his methods but if was a player he would be the first bloke I approached to manage me

That Ralph article

The Connors machine has swung into top gear now. Stringer can't stay there because his mental health will be jeopardised - ouch! Classic Connors. And why? Because that shit is unbeatable. You cannot fight it.

Classic Connors. This is why he's the best in the business, and getting his clients where they want to go is what he does.

I'm sorry Bullies. I've been on the wrong end of this and I know how much it sucks, because there's only one way now this story ends, guaranteed.

The machine has cranked up and as a result this will be done and dusted in 48 hours maximum. Mark my words
Carbon copy of the Ryder playbook.

I'd be all over Chris Mayne or Vickerys manager. Easy 500k contact

Hypothetically by the off chance we dont fold and hold onto him. What does Connors play the mental health card and take this to court.

Its a PR stunt. Not that it may or may not work but jake doesnt have the mental capacity to be affected mentally anyway.

If anything its him that has affected the mental health of several people associated witn the club. Cant really be crying wolf now.

Just a realist m8.

Peter Gordon is a different kettle of fish than the easy pickings EFC has been over the last few years.

I'll wait and see what happens and leave you to your premature cartwheels.

Yeah it would be super interesting to see how that would play out, and how the AFL would work it. Could be a very slippery slope with contracts already basically meaningless. We've got a decent President to have if it gets to that though...

Isn't his meddling in the footy department what caused the blunder with pick 11?

Isn't his meddling in the footy department what caused the blunder with pick 11?

The blunder where we refused to give Stringer and P26 away for P11? i love those kinds of not getting screwed 'blunders'.

Anyway who reported that and what was the source - Connors or Dodoro?

Connors and Dodoro are pissing off the wrong guy in Gordon. Those two are plodders when compared to Gordo. And yeah he'll be involved. Why wouldn't you involve him when you have one of the best hardball negotiators in the country.

Poor bastards won't know what hit them dealing with a guy who got compo for asbestos and thalidomide victims. A mere footy trade is a piece of piss.

I almost pity Connors and Dodoro.

Almost.

What does bullying in the workplace look like?
  • repeated hurtful remarks or attacks, or making fun of your work or you as a person (including your family, sex, sexuality, gender identity, race or culture, education or economic background)
  • sexual harassment, particularly stuff like unwelcome touching and sexually explicit comments and requests that make you uncomfortable
  • excluding you or stopping you from working with people or taking part in activities that relates to your work
  • playing mind games, ganging up on you, or other types of psychological harassment
  • intimidation (making you feel less important and undervalued)
  • giving you pointless tasks that have nothing to do with your job
  • giving you impossible jobs that can't be done in the given time or with the resources provided
  • deliberately changing your work hours or schedule to make it difficult for you
  • deliberately holding back information you need for getting your work done properly
  • pushing, shoving, tripping, grabbing you in the workplace
  • attacking or threatening with equipment, knives, guns, clubs or any other type of object that can be turned into a weapon
  • initiation or hazing - where you are made to do humiliating or inappropriate things in order to be accepted as part of the team.

It would be pretty easy to mount a case that the bolded points above have occurred to Jake from bulldogs management over the past 6 weeks. Hence jakes reluctance to return to the bulldogs.

What is not workplace bullying
Some practices in the workplace may not seem fair but are not bullying.

Your employer is allowed to transfer, demote, discipline, counsel, retrench or sack you (as long as they are acting reasonably).

Telling a player you are trading him, “to put a rocket up him” and then not actually trading him, does not fit in the examples listed above. And it is without a doubt workplace bullying.

The hours and money Jake has had to invest looking for a new club not to mention the stress and uncertainty about his future he has gone through are unjustifiable if the bulldogs were never serious about trading him.

If they at any stage told stringer point blank that they were trading him (which judging from the immediate fallout out from stringers exit interview is precisely what they did), well then they simply must trade him, because if not then they have undoubtedly been playing mind games and psychologically harassing stringer, and he would have no trouble in proving that their conduct has been unreasonable.

There is a distinct theme of bombers posters referring to the dogs turning down "pick 11".

Almost like they are purposefully leaving out the rest of the deal...

This was the whole deal wasn't it?

Stringer and 28

for

11 and 49?

Yeah it was.

would say the Dogs would have taken it but Peter Gordon got in the way.

As lance uppercut said, once they go down this path you can’t fight this shit, it’s best to just take what you can and move on

Peter Gordon invented this shit m8. I'll back him.

The point I'm making is that the bombers never offered pick 11 in return for stringer.

They offered a trade that involved pick 11.

first offer was 11+47 for Stringer+26 dogs refused

The second deal if I’m not mistaken was to get Richmond and Freo involved but both said no.

This post has so many holes in it i don't know whether to laugh or cry.

I seriously hope you were having an off day when you posted it.

The thinking process displayed in the above post certainly reveals some serious mental health issues.

God almighty, the entire bulldog fan base needs to be compensated by the EFC for the persistent outrageous moralising tantrums we have had to endure from Essendon supporters, the ess media, Deodoro, connors, cooney..

Wherever Stringer goes might be in doubt, what is clear to everyone is that the Essendon FC and its supporters have returned to their 2012 slogan - "whatever it takes".

During your drug saga, it was often bulldog supporters who were the most empathetic to Essendon plight. I think over the last 2 weeks you may have lost our goodwill. Good luck

This isn't the Sicily mate. Nobody gives a ****, I'd be more worried about pissing off Connors.
