Used to rip from the local Loy's truck in Bundora Pde, Mentone. Ain't it funny how you develop a conscience as you age? I couldn't have given two flying flannelettes at the time, but my how the guilt now weighs...

Remember seeing the aftermath of a Slade's truck taking a corner too fast in East Burwood. Poor bloke lost half the load and was out with a broom cleaning the road. No doubt some families missed their weekly delivery, I wonder how they coped with that.

Slades >>> Loys

Loys was the rival right? Both used to sell 750ml glass bottles and you could buy by the crate at servos (or get home delivery). Reckon the last time I bought Slades (used to buy a bottle at the local milk bar) was circa 95. Just googled Slades and saw they now sell their product in plastic bottles, wouldn't taste the same imo.

On my hols in melbourne i noticed an old faded oasis sign above a deli on the 96 tram route in St Kilda a week after seeing this thread, and 12 or so years after i last saw anything about the oasis beverage. Spooky

Yeah Loys were the rival, was like Ford and Holden back in the day, remember having arguments with blokes at school about it

I've googled it and some people have suggested it's Kirks Kole Beer [love that] but with a different name in SA.

Please i need your help. I've been trying to think of the name of a soft drink forever. Ok.. it's from the late 70s/ early 80s. Im from Gold Coast. It was in a SILVER CAN with black running writing on it and like an orange and yellow sun. The can had a matte finish. Orange/ yellow coloured liquid from memory.

I can't remember the colour, but it came from Melbourne and I only ever saw it in some corner shop in Regency Road in Radelaide

my baseball club used to have it and they was sponsored by Woodroofe's, this was the late 80's
