There is just absolutely no way Higgins slides to 16.

I am struggling to understand the love for Starcevich. He had pretty average start to the U18 carnival however played a decent later leg against Allies and did well in the All Star game.

His season at Colts was good but nothing that I have seen him playing live or on TV suggests that he is in the calculations for the Eagles up to and including pick 37. I think he falls in a 3rd to 4th round and I would be happy at pick 69 (assuming we have other bases covered).

For someone who spent a lot of time up front, he does not hit the scoreboard enough. As a midfielder, he looked a little at sea in a few games I saw.

Happy to get others input but as I stated, not a second round pick on my board.

Agree he may be around later. I wouldn't want us using too early picks on him but I like his athleticism. Very agile and quick and a decent build. I think he naturally puts his head over the ball and plays with intensity/works hard and has decent skills. So that to me suggests he has the attributes to potentially develop as an inside mid at afl level. + WA boy bias

In summary elite athleticism coupled with effort is what I like about him. Just think he's been underrated because his production hasn't been too high but I'm hoping he could develop.

How are the talls rated (either by you or what you think the club would think)?

My fairly uninformed guess of the club's ratings, taking into account needs:
- Brander - highly rated and can play at both ends
- Allen - quality, local, maybe think he can be more of a mid sized forward
- Balta - really athletic and flexible
- Naughton - don't don't really need him and his kicking is poor, even if Gov moved forward we would have toe KPDs who are limited offensively
- Hayes - just don't think we will invest a high pick on him unless we think he can play full forward well

Every team picks up dud players. I wouldn't be losing sleep over picking up Adam Carter at pick 59 back in 2012. 2012 was one of the worst drafts in memory.

I agree. Luck has something to do with it as well.
Dangerfield, Fyfe, Ablett, Shuey might have been duds if they had years of long term injuries, after being recruited.

Now I know I have been banging on about this kid for the last three months as the player I IMOST want us to get.
Many here have questioned if he is a genuine midfielder or just a hybrid HBF than can run and carry.

After having watched this clip of " my boy Hunter " ....... do any of you still have any doubts that he is a genuine inside / outside midfielder. ?

Sadly I think he will be off the board before we get to take our first pick, fingers crossed and all that if he was available at # 13 I would be super pissed if we passed him over.

Besides ( and credit here to avishka5 for this piece of work ) but how good does he look in Wings. ?

Me too and all the chatter about Allen being destined for us makes me edgy as its not who I would take unless ALL the first tier mids were gone.
