Herald Sun reporting we’re looking at picking Crameri up as a rookie
Well there you go. Certainly makes him cheap...

I thought we were full up with rookies

Did you see him play in 2017? He's well and truly past his best, which was only average in any case.

Just who does he in front of... I really cant see him getting much more of a chance than what Black got. The worst outcome for me would be it would stop us playing young guys like Buzza etc.

I’m not keen on Crameri but im also not keen to rookie hayball. If they end up wit Crameri as a rookie instead of hayball I think that’s a win. But would rather someone else in the draft than Crameri.

Just wait till post the draft there will be players not drafted that would appeal . I'll eat my words if he plays and kicks goals in a final but all I see is a player who is nothing like Pods.

Pick a young Falcon or a local ... almost no chance of playing but its not all about instant gratification.

Some mail has come my way

From a reputable source

"Lock in Crameri mate"

Assuming as a DFA, no harm really as he will cost nothing and at worst is solid depth and a workhorse
If we are going down this path id rather use it on a defender such as Sam Collins, Lachlan Hanson, Michael Talia (purely as insurance incase we lose Hendo or Taylor) or take a punt on Arron Mullett. I`d even consider Zac Clarke before Crameri.

maybe they are elevating 2 rookies.
Parsons and Guthrie?

Parsons is getting elevated and zuthrie simpson jones and henry are retained aa rookies so we can only rookie Crameri and hayball if we go with a 38/6 list and pass on picks 72 and 90.

Mullett signed with Carlton.

We brought Ablett in for 2 years ... may as well roll the dice and see if we can get 30 goals out of Crameri and have a better dynamic in the forward line.

Buzza is not a difference maker, he's a raw long term project. Throwing a bone to Crameri won't affect his development. However we can be sure if a spot opens up for the medium type Black and Crameri are competing against each other for it.

As a rookie on minimum wage he's worth a shot.

The bolded is wrong for me, we brought back Gaz, who can also kick goals. With the AA feed that makes a big diff.

Buzz is some1 I supported long term, came from a long way back (rugby family) & is actually showing signs with a couple of years under his belt & the fact that our supporters have a diff pov where he is concerned is a plus.

I dont get that though. We could take him at 72 but why would we not have just taken him as a DFA then? I can see it as a rookie but we only have one rookie slot and i thought it was for hayball. In theory we could pass on 72 and 90 and rookie both hayball and crameri but would we?
Are tbere not 2 remaining dfa periods

Why have you bolded defenders? Crameri is not gonna fill any pos there.

If it means Stanley does not play at all I'm okay with getting Crameri because there's no way we can fit him in with Smith ruck and Buzza as the ruck forward unless one of Smith or Buzza is injured or suspended of course. Cram would be our third tall making us more dynamic. Not a fan personally however definitely worth a shot, we are in it for the now.

I like the looks of
Bews Hendo Kolo
Stewart Taylor Tuohy
Blicavs JSelwood Sselwood
Ablett Buzza Cockatoo
Menzel Hawkins Crameri
Smith Dangerfield Duncan
Thurlow Parfitt CGuthrie Menegola

If we don't get Crameri then replace him with Parsons in that line up for mine. I'd play this as the 22 but maybe the positions different.

Didnt see that apologies.
We still need KPD as cover with Harry aging & Hendo good for a few games out with injury

Apart from when he gets concussion due to his courage he is durable enough. Hendo harry kolo house (who i rate) gardner and blicavs is plenty of kpds.

We need to find a decent 2nd tall forward and keep our small forwards on the park to win a flag in 2018.
