Thanks for posting that one ... I kept seeing the Steve Miller Band referenced as a psychedelic act, and though confused I'd never gotten 'round to checking out the sound of their earlier work.
You should listen to the whole of side 1

Each song runs into the next like the Abbey Road medley

Side 2 is not as epic or psychedelic, more bluesy, but I iiked this tune by Boz Scaggs

I nominated this previously and got not love

Sweet tune & vid for anyone with the patience to listen & get into it

Thus is a goid round because psychedelica is quite out there and not to usual tastes. Its a bit like EDM where people assume its only listenable whilst ****ed.

Free your minds people.

Love for Tame Impala and King Jizz but no love for Pond

Kicking myself that I didn't nom this>..

Now you've hit the moment that crushed me in this whole nomination process. Ween as a band weren't anywhere near that psychedelic classification :(

I was going to nom this. Thought somebody else would...

I thought about nomming a different Donovan track but was discouraged by the fact that the last time I nommed imo his best track, with guitar by possibly the GOAT Jimmy Page (pre Zepplin) I got three botes .

The kingdom of heaven is within!!!

Classic tune. One of Funkadelic's best.

Gotta disagree on this one - if only for philosophical rather than musical reasons. I'd happily exchange the (protestant) interiority ("the kingdom of heaven is within") of that piece with the more accurate (IMHO) phenomenological observations of:

"I was cool ... but I had no groove" (strongly implying an ongoing fit between agent and world as opposed to a static image of 'grace'.)

I was also tempted to nominate that.

Haha! Well that's nice to know. I dropped it as a nomination as I wasn't up to constructing an argument for stoner metal being psychedelic, just in case it was needed.

Strangely enough though, I was quite prepared to do that in the case of Boredoms.

I think there is an argument to be made.
I can think of some Kyuss that qualifies.
