Somehow Sam Murray got the Rising Star Nom because he played against Carlton. Thought Ed Richards would get it this week surely.
He's noticeable because he's been one of the better players in a really poor team.

Even in rugby that is an illegal tackle, due to the dangers of a neck injury. AFL is a joke when Sandi hits someone with
a bump, and there is no injury to the head, yet NN is taking out guys half his size grid iron style.
Punishment is very reactive in the AFL, unfortunately there usually has to be an injury involved before scrutiny

E.g. the Gary Rohan rule

Herd them all before, I’m sure

I liked all the fish puns in the other thread - I forgot which one. Maybe it was this one?

Yeah there were a few of you ramming these puns down our throats

Is anyone concerned regarding NicNats new tackling technique? He seems to be pole driving players into the turf. He completely rolled a player ass over head against Sydney and did the same against Geelong. It looks destined for a catasphrophic neck injury. I don’t remember him doing that pre-knee. He semi lifts them then drives strongly into the turf often resulting in both players rolling. Anyone else noticed?

If i recall correctly the tackle in the sydney game was on parker near the goal square which ended in nicnat getting the free and kicking the goal. At the time i thought parker had been driven but the umpire saw it differently. I think that will be the case until someone gets hurt unfortunately. For someone who seems like such a gentle giant off the park is anything but on it. But its good for the game right?

As soon as I saw that tackle on Parker by Nic I called it as a very dangerous thing to do. Never mind being good for the game I am terrified that someone will become a paraplegic or similar unless it is immediately stamped out and I don't mean paying a free kick but a severe suspension for a first offence.

It was a far more dangerous tackle than the two awarded to Zac Fisher on Friday night.

The Crump reporting today that Jeremy McGovern has rejected an offer from the Eagles to re-sign due to it not matching other offers on the table. Crumpet reckons that his management won't budge and are happy to wait until the end of the season before deciding on which offer to take.

No wonder his form has dropped this year.

Did Eagles get a bit trigger happy with their Facebook post then? Or is Crumpelina still talking out of his ass?

well his next contract will probably be the biggest deal (relatively) of his life so it is worth getting it right. And, he has the game to justify the big dollars unlike some others in recent years. Would be smart play if true.

E.g. the Gary Rohan rule
More commonly referred to as the Lindsay Thomas rule #1. Which preceded the Lindsay Thomas rule #2 "If you choose to bump and make contact with the head...." for his bump on Ben Reid or Toovey. Which preceded the Lindsay Thomas rule #3 "Fine for diving".

The rules committee will be disbanded when Lindsay retires.

Great to see Alex Pearce was named in the round 3 AA side. Re watching the game the next day one of the commentators called him as being a serious prospect for the 2018 AA side. We have got a gun here.

Fyfe was also selected in the round 3 AA side.

Apologies if this has been posted previously .
