I think the lesson is not to get carried away with JLT wins and wins against very average teams at home. West Coast will do a number on us in a couple of weeks. Their forward line will have a field day whilst their defence won't even raise a sweat.

It's unfortunate we are into our third year of mediocrity and little improvement in the game plan. Meanwhile the clock is ticking for Stephen Hill, Fyfe and Son Son.

If we deliver the ball the way we have recently, yep we ll be dominated. If we play short and hit the lead like against Essendon and Gold Coast at times, it's a different story

West Coast won't allow us to play that way. The only reason we got away with it was because we were playing bad teams and we still couldn't put them to the sword.

So much this
Eagles are going to win by 100 here, we were all high fiving over beating this mob by 4 goals after being behind in the third quarter

Sigh . . . Yes unfortunately looking at how well organized WC are I fear we’re in for another spanking in the Derby.
It’s quite bizarre that we can already predict how the game will go from this far out - we will have as many or more inside 50’s almost all of which will be kicked to a 1 on 2 of Ballantyne v McGovern/someone while WC will effortlessly hit up JK/Darling.
We will manage a few well constructed goals early then As the game goes on we’ll gradually lose all confidence till we’re just kicking it straight to McGovern/Yeo.

Let’s hand them the premiership now then

So the biggest bunch of front runners beat up on a team that has been on the road for a month. We can beat them.

Look at how they're structured. Well organized. Play as a team and have a functional forward line.
We have the cattle but the gameplan.. well we just need to fix that and play quicker, short and hit the forwards on the lead. Teams have worked us out and how to counter attack against us. Simple
Yeah Simmo is a genius.

Don’t worry about them just wait to they play someone decent.

Exactly. The WA media will pump them up but can they beat any of the genuine contenders (Sydney, GWS, Adelaide, Port, Richmond)? Doubt it.

The eagles have been super lucky.
They played the dogs at an opportune time, battled the cats who proceeded to get severely injured and then play GC who have been travelling for a month.I know you can only judge on what you see but the eggs don't get named flat track bullies for nothing.

Did they take in the boundaries because of the cut arms on the LED screens?

That sucks for us. We like the width.

Nope, ground dimensions remained the same. Optus Stadium has a 5.5m gap from boundary to fencing/signage and the AFL states a 5m gap is required.

They simply installed a panel of Perspex in front of each LED panel.

I get your point but how bout the bulldogs?... were quite comfortably , along with Carlton the worst team in it, 2 weeks ago now they just lost narrowly to Sydney and spanned Essendon.
As they say a weeks a long time in footy

I think if they are behind at half time they drop their bundle but if they are in touch they fight it out hard.

I also think people are forgetting or at least underestimating one major issue for wc.
Sydney had Sinclair, Geelong Blicavs (lol) bulldogs English and gc witts (the best of that lot)
We have Aaron Sandilands.
I've seen him take on AND beat both nicnat and cox in years past
As everyone knows(no one more than eagles coaching nicnat makes up a lot for their vanilla midfield)
That advantage is totally neutralised (at the very least) when up against us.

Think we definitely should go a back up ruck this game tho
Shame darcy is inj , would have lived his aggression in this game)

After Two match against WA team , i do think Eagles are more organized, as Pav mention GC plays into EAGLES hand with Long Bomb into inside 50. If Freo minimize the long bomb i i think the match (Derby) will be close . Is not hard to see GC yesterday match look a lot like Freo vs Eagles last year match with the only different Sandi instead of Witts .
