I still think Gallucci can make it as best 22 player....just not as a pure midfielder, I like him in the Cameron role and from what was emanating from the club in the pre-season that seemed where we had pigeon holed Jordan until his niggle. I could see him making a very good fist as a running/attacking half back flanker as well....all is not lost just yet.

Agreed ... put him as our forward hunter .

Would like to see more Milera up there as well and Atkins .
We need some pace to lock in or at least pressure the ball coming out at the moment we have nothing .
No use playing an aggressive and high forward press when we have zero leg speed or agility .
We need to turn back to being the Hunter .

And no... not in a million years was CEY ever going to become an elite midfielder.
Fair chance he would have finished somewhere in between.....nowhere near as bad as you continually mention and likely not "elite" as Geoffa32 suggests......a good handy midfielder in the midfield rotations and certainly better than a depth player.

Crazy idea - Lynch to HBF, run like crazy from there?

Our forward line should be passable, our middle and run from defense is dire.

He could, worth a shot.
What about Gov on Buddy?

Otten in this week actually takes us back to the structure that worked well for us last year if he plays back. Otten plays Levers role, Kelly plays Browns role, Doedee plays a more attacking version of Kelly's role and Brown plays Smith's role.

So potentially Otten isn't coming in for Fogerty, he is coming in for Mackay with a bit of shuffling around required. Otten was very good in defence last year when Lever was injured - they are actually very similar players.

That would make sense if Sydney had more than 1 forward taller than 190cm.

In fact they only have 3 players taller than 190cm in their entire team: Franklin, Sinclair and Grundy

Adding a tall, lumbering slow defender to an already tall defence when Sydney are using a small pressure forward line screams "Grand Final" all over again to me

Otten's one and only remaining skill is that he reads the flight of the ball better than most - if he's in to play the intercept marking role across half back that Leaver used to do, then the height of the player he isn't actually playing on doesn't really matter.

I mean, this would be the theory at least.

He's dangerous back there. Not in a good way, but likely to lace out an opposition player with an ill-advised attempt to kick a precise 55 metre cross field pass bad way.

I'd love to play golf with Lynch. He'd be a cert to try to shape a 5 iron with a bit of draw through a 2 metre gap in the trees about 100 metres down the fairway.

We also could have kept Doedee in this role, added an extra small and structured up better in defence whenever the ball favors their smaller forward line

Gameday change. Otten out. Hampton in. You know it's the right thing Pykey. Make it happen.

Hampton may, or may not be injured again.. Unsure at this stage.

I think we are dangerously close to being ineligible to field a SANFL side to a minimum number of AFL listed players required. Thus some players might have to play injured just to get us over the line? Things are pretty grim at the moment.

Five AAA talking about Hartigan out with Tight Knee, with Hampton in.

If true a better mix. and make more sense with Otten selection.
I think Hartigan's size and pace could have helped curtail Buddy at some stage. Regardless, Hartigan out isn't a good thing at all.

This would be consistent with what I’ve heard, but also have heard Hampton is under a cloud? Shall see.

Was hoping Wilson would get a game...

I'm on board with what you suggest, but I couldn't help but think of this...

Better mix than what we thought on Thursday in regards to too tall. Hartigan out is not great but Otten can cover the strong body requirements.
And we now look more balance with our mix.

Just thinking off topic but just how good of a defender could've Otten been for us right now if he hadn't done two ACLs. He is a smart player with good hands but speed has always been the issue and why he rarely plays down back anymore.

Still doesn't excuse us naming him last night though.

AA rarely right.

Ah here's my #1 fan again taking pot shots from the cheap seats. Never change, lover, never change :rainbow:
Cheap seats? I guess you are BF front row royalty  I can't help it if you continue to post complete drivel ... on the other hand I'm always happy to point out your blatant big noting of yourself. I also enjoy how much it bothers you, which is clear as you always seem to bite :thumbsu:
