If this is going to be as good as Wheelchair Rugby - aka Murder Ball - then I will be watching.

FIVE AFL clubs will this year launch a new wheelchair football league open to those with a physical disability, mobility issues and able-bodied people interested in competing.
Collingwood, Essendon, Hawthorn, Richmond and St Kilda will compete in the league, named the Robert Rose Foundation Victorian Wheelchair Football League (VWFL), with 10 rounds to be played from May to August. The grand final will be played during the AFL’s pre-finals bye.
The statewide league will be the first opportunity for those with a physical disability to play AFL in a regular competition. The league’s mission, in conjunction with Disability Sport and Recreation (DSR), will focus on promoting social inclusion and give more Victorians the opportunity to play sport.
The matches will be played on a basketball court with five players allowed on the court from each team at one time, while matches can also be played featuring three per side as a minimum. There will be no restriction on the number of players allowed on the bench. Matches will feature four 10-minute quarters with no time-on, with a size five synthetic Sherrin to be used as the official ball. Players will be assigned to set positions — forward, centre and defence — during games. There is no kicking in the VWFL, with a handball the equivalent of a kick, and players are permitted to throw the ball using a single-handed underarm pass.........

Yeah, wheelchair Rugby works because kicking is not a fundamental part of Rugby. So isn’t this just European handball with behind posts?
I’m all for inclusion, but at some point you have to have realistic limits, don’t you? I feel like people without functioning legs playing football is beyond those limits.
To be honest our board is pretty open compared to others.
Not sure if other clubs boards are to harsh or maybe ours is a bit lenient?
Do they handball in Euro handball? Did you really expect someone in a wheelchair to kick the ball?. If it gives people who ended up in a wheelchair an alternative activity then I can't see the problem. If clubs given them a bit of support then that's another positive. So isn’t this just European handball with behind posts?

Yeah, I'll be playing Playstation. It's hardly a blockbuster, and I'm at the stage where if Port weren't in the AFL I wouldn't follow footy at all.To my fellow Bigfooty members, I would NOT watch tonight’s ‘mockbuster’ match between the Bullflogs & Carltank, lets send a message to the VFL to say we’re not interested in watching two strugglers on the Friday night stage that don’t deserve to be there.

In our last 6 games against Carlton, we have received 74 free kicks, yet conceded 117.
In the 3 games we lost by a combined 7 points, the free kick count was 34-67.
And that doesn't include our best player getting KO'd by their best player for not so much as a free kick.
He copped 2 weeks from the MRP afterward though, which really helped on the day.

I thought that having an Ultimate Footy team might have kept me interested in games not involving Ports, but it's mainly the commentators that shit me more than the crap games themselves, so I just keep pressing the refresh button on the Ultimate Footy site and follow the games from there. My UF opponent this week has 9 Port players in their side (plus Aaron Young!) whereas I've only got DBJ - and Ben Brown - so I'm rather conflicted this week![]()
Much to the chagrin of the Carlton BoardOShizzy playing tonight?
So who’s this Roovalution bloke? Feels like he needs his own spelling thread....
