The tribunal had to pretend May did not intentionally contact the umpire, so boystown could get the result they wanted?

It was intentional. It was clearly intentional. If you don't want to suspend May then so be it, but don't re-write history books.

It was intentional. Sheesh. Boystown has lost the plot.

That was in reference to the nealed sacking.

No they haven’t. ‘Lost the plot’ implies that the wild inconsistency is accidental rather than intentional manipulating of outcomes. It’s not a bug, it’s a feature.

In the Hawkins incident the umpire said dont touch me. In May incident the umpire didn't say anything.

The umpire immediately indicated to Hawkins to back off yelling: "Hey, don't touch me either" at the Cats' forward. The rules state that a player can be sent straight to the tribunal for making intentional contact with an umpire. However, careless contact attracts a fine. "Intentional contact with an umpire is a direct referral to the tribunal and no early plea is available to the player," the AFL said.

But on the eve of the "AFL owned team" flying to Shanghai its not hard to get a little cynical that its an AFL backed decision to let May off. On balance I reckon its the right decision as it was careless not intentional, just hard to accept that Moore got 3 games in the SANFL for showing the ump what he did and the ump like in the May incident didnt say anthing or take offence.

And Kane saying Bolton will get no sanction for swearing because he apologised, even though Chad wasn't given any opportunity to apologise, was just hit with a one week sanction.
The inconsistency is amazing. They must have a panel working 24/7 to come up with their excuses to get the outcomes they want.

I have to go back and retrospectively change my round 1 votes and give Ebo and Jonas some votes. Between the 2 of them they limited Nat Fyfe's influence on the game and I remember Jonah doing a couple of ball and all tackles n Fyfe when he was resting forward.

Fyfe is leading the coaches award with 48 having received 4 x 10 and 1 x 8 votes in 5 of the 8 games. He missed out on votes against us, GWS and WCE. Ok he has got 38 of his vptes in Perth but he did get 10 against Richmond when they smacked Freo by 13 goals.

Making it up as they go along, it wouldn't be the VFL otherwise.

I'm actually surprised that Hinkley wasn't sanctioned for his celebration in the box after the game.

Gill is a absolute disgrace - meeting with clarkson. I dont normally take much notice of robert walls but i am glad he called it out and then drew a connection to the hawks former employee, Mark Evans during the glory days.

so obvious that club had an advantage over the competition.

You wouldn't want to play the Hawks this week!.

It is an outcomes based tribunal. They reach a reason to suit the verdict.

Maybe belatedly the tribunal panel members are working out the AFL counsel will say any shit as that's his job as a lawyer and they have to eliminate his crap and not listen to his dribble. This is probably why it took " 13 minutes to deliberate before announcing their verdict following a hearing that lasted less than half an hour."

The Gold Coast defender's advocate, Stephen Russell, told the Tribunal Harris had not said anything to May at the time about being touched and had no recollection of the incident.

The AFL's legal counsel, Jeff Gleeson QC conceded May's action had not been abusive, hostile or aggressive, but argued Harris had been "essentially immobile" at the time of the incident and May had touched him intentionally to demonstrate what had been done to him. Gleeson also said May touched the umpire with sufficient force to make him take a small backward step. "It's not a brushing," Gleeson said.

We need to seriously get in on this.

Clarkson is doing well not not to cop a $20k fine for criticising the umpires.

Watch how many frees Roughead gets for blocks over the coming weeks.

Flog Campbell Brown claiming B Crouch's injury is worse than 1st thought and is going in for season ending surgery.

What will Adelaide call this? Surgery Awareness perhaps.
Nice work BirdBrain
