I spent an inordinate amount of time racking my brain over who the **** Rex Walker is.

Sent from mTalk

Isn't he the bloke Rowie told to go and get stuffed in 2006?

Left of field. Very prepared to be howled down.

What do you all think about an official signings period in the middle of the year? 4 weeks, around the bye (good for media) where all clubs can talk to all players - but they can only be signed by their own club. All other extensions must happen out of season. (After the gf, before the first round)

I’m so bored of hearing of players signing etc. Wines is done, on to Polec. It would give the second half of the season clear air if he chooses not to take an extension in that period - he has to wait until after the season.

All players must be signed for the next season by the draft, but can again be extended until first round.

Too weird?

Whateley interviewing Peter Gordon first up this morning.
The ongoing dissection of “where has it all gone wrong for the Doggies?” is just stupid. They’re a poor to middling club that got lucky one September and had the umpires in their pocket on the big day. There’s nothing else to dissect.
I really hate Peter Gordon after his comments about Port. Never barracked so hard for an opposition club in my life than in 2016 GF.

I am amazed that Jeremy Clayton pleaded not guilty. His elbow was raised well before contact and he probably got off lightly considering the outcome of his actions.

Jonas got 6 weeks for his hit 2 years back. If that’s the benchmark Jeremy should have got 6 or 7

I’m open to a change of job or place of work like any other employee.

2 weeks notice and the player can join a new club at anytime of the year

Is that something I should be concerned about? It would be a level playing field, and having all clubs be able to openly speak to players for a period of time would increase transparency and allow to players to be less secretive doing what they already do, but are banned from doing.

So no more term contracts for players?

Player or club can terminate employment with 2 weeks notice. Coaches no longer able to develop game plans based on the players on their list. Good players able to chase the dollars as clubs' needs change. Average players not knowing from month to month if they'll have a job. Injury prone players dumped.

No thanks.

Jonas got 6 weeks off. Gaff was off for one.

Cameron gets 5 weeks off. I'm fairly sure that Andrews won't be gracing a football field in a fortnight's time.

Everyone is tired of the inconsistency and blatant favouritism.
You would think the penalties would get tougher over time rather than softer.

Re the comparisons between incidents and penalties, in my opinion TJ had time for think music and therefore could have avoided serious contact with Gaff, while Thomas was hung, drawn and quartered by the media and received 4 games, when most players would have probably received no more than 2.
It is also not beyond the realms of possibility that Thomas copped some fall out due to the club's botched handling of the Jonas appeal and therefore received the full force of the `smoke and mirrors ' clause.

On the other hand Cameron is a nasty C*** who was always going to hurt someone badly, the AFL needed to send him a stronger message than 5 games, because if he doesn't get it this time there has to be a very strong chance of a large law suit heading both his, and their way in the future.
