Two weeks in a row Carlton players have had to leave the field early in the first quarter with elevated heart rates and shortness of breath.

Makes you wonder what’s in the pregame jab?
They probably had a tankful of it.

He's been dealing with concussion symptoms for a while. That's why he had a helmet. They took him off with good reason. Why he was even out there is anyone's guess though.
So they could take him off and play with a man down.
It’s unreal how they are getting away with it.

Tipping the Giants in an upset tonight, as it seems that, every time Richmond boards a plane in 2018, they forget how to play footy. Will be very interesting to see how this plays out - almost the only interesting thing about this "super Saturday" of football.

I’m totally with you on that one. Giants will win this, Richmond are beyond terrible away from Melbourne.

Which is why the landscape of the 2018 premiership changes completely if the Tigers were to somehow lose their qualifying final.

QF loser gets the home game though don’t they?

Why? It depends who wins the QF final in the other half of the draw.

If Richmond finish 1st and WCE or Port finish 4th, they lose that QF at the G, then they play the SF at the G and let's say they win that, and if Collingwood win the 2 v 3 QF, then the PF at the G is Coll v Rich. Never leave the G in September in that scenario.

Dangerfield and Jenkins on Fox's FNF coverage.

I'm trying real hard to be the shepherd, Ringo.

Jenkins was actually great on the coverage. Honest, interesting and self deprecating. He seemed like a legend compared to the smug w***er on his right.

An AFL corporation dream. They will dine out on the crowd figures from the finals series to justify the drew and the new MCG GF contract.

Carlton getting performance un-enhancing drugs for better draft picks
Funny how someone playing footy is breathing hard and has a raised heart rate.

But just suppose Port and West Coast win the qualifying finals - it means two preliminary finals outside Melbourne. I wouldn't be putting my hard earned on Richmond in that scenario.
Yep that's another scenario.

You just can't make a blanket statement that if Richmond don't win the QF they can't make the GF. Until the final 4 is settled, there are plenty of permutations.

In that scenario it's an extra MCG finals game so 95,000 will rock up ie an extra 40,000 than if the SF was held in Perth or Adelaide, and the MCC would be laughing as well.

Another chance to have a former player go up against his old team has been lost. After Jack Watts was dropped before the Melbourne game Luke Hodge has pulled out of the Hawks game with an injury.

I wasn't suggesting that they can't make the GF - plenty of examples where a losing QFist has won the flag. But obviously you'd rather play a final at home.
