Don't need to. Next years first for Shiel/Setterfield (plus this years PP) and you still get Walsh. IMO if that happens we are set. Next 2 years is about minimal changes and a couple of big fish

We wouldn't be handing over a future 1st for Shiel alone. That's likely a top 4 pick for a player who we could get for free next year.

I reckon the Dons would look to swap their 1st for Setterfield this year alone though and the Giants would do it, so it's more likely he winds up at Windy Hill.

So were more likely to get Shiel alone for our future 1st with a second coming back with him.

Our list is then set. We have more than 30 players under 22 supported now by some genuine talent. How many tops picks has Geelong Hawthorn & Sydney had recently. Even Richmond. Get the core right (which this will finalise) and then it's about constantly topping up.

I think if we added Walsh Shiel Setterfield Dahlhaus Fasolo and a few others to our young group this year we are nearly set. We have addressed most of our issues. That is an awesome list and will be a destination for players in 2019 and beyond

Not really, not sure if setterfield is an option we are looking at. If he was, I doubt it would be Shiel & Setterfield (one or other). Goddard is wrong age profile for us, only reason Eddie is being considered is due to the coaching aspect and also to help out with our indigenous program.

They need salary cap relief apparently. So they're looking to trade out Shiel and Setterfield for 2 more first rounders and an extra million in the cap, which can be used to extend Kelly's contract taking him up to the free agency window.

They also get 2 x low 1st rounders.

They'd happily do it for a future 1st from us. Its likely a bottom 4 pick so it kicks in before academy players, giving them (once again) multiple 1st round picks next year.

They trade Setterfield to the Bombers for pick 10 this year.

2 x 1sts this year and next, lock away Kelly, all while they're probably winning a flag.
