my only concern is what the trade would cost us, they d want two first rounders (which we will all but certainly have) but we need to bring in young talents from the draft, so it would counteract that.

We could still potentially do a combination, Polec and our second for Norths first this year and next and we could trade both next years picks for Sheil, leaving us with two for this years draft. Try get Setterfiled as steak knives ?
Setterfield was no 5 in the 2016 draft. Missed half of 2017 in the NEAFL through an ankle and missed all of 2018 with an ACL. Averaged 25 touches in the NEAFL and played 2 AFL games but was concussed.

Who I want us to go for:

Lycett - Cost us nothing but salary.
Steven May - One first rounder will get this done. We need experience in our defence.
Dylan Shiel - Pie in the sky, but exactly what we need. 9 & 10 will get this deal done and he is more than worth that.

If we got Lycett and one of these other two, I am more than happy to lose Polec.

Would you guys accept either Crows first or Melbournes first for Polec? Likely to be pick 8 or 12ish.
Pure hypothetically but with rumours we are front runners for McGovern i'd be open to trading pick 1 for McGovern and either Adelaide's or Melbourne's first, then on-trade that to you for Polec.

There was a rumour that we may be a sneaky chance for Polec...prob BS but fun to hypothesise if you'd do this trade.

Why. It’s worse than our offer from north and helps Adelaide

I think we will push for a first and second from north

If Carlton has pick one on the table port could do something that gives you a pick that can easily get McGovern

McGoverns value should be between 13-25. Prob in the middle of that range. If you pay more you’re getting robbed.

Haven’t you learnt from trading with Adelaide yet?

Do you really need McGovern?

What about your first for Wines

I sincerely hope we are having a look at Sam Collins who was delisted last year. I wanted him then, and I want him now. Has had a massive season in the 2s.

Am I the only one who thinks M. McGovern isn't any good? He's 24 and he's shown some good clutch moments but overall hes never been a remotely consistent contributor. The crows won't miss him at all.

He was made to look good in 2017 by an absolutely dominate forward line that had Walker and Betts both firing.

Don’t think he’s a fit for Port Adelaide, but probably not worth a top draft pick in this years draft.

Same. The magpies seriously need some kpp so we can develop our players in their proper positions and with a proper structure and it would give us ready kpp depth and also still young enough to possibly have some improvement left.

Our rookie list this year must be used on a couple of kpp. Whether it’s him, Jordan butts Krueger Grundy Koschitzke or whoever.

It’s not that he isn’t good. He is alright. Worth noting he is older than Howard, but only 1 year younger than clurey and 1 1/2 years younger than hombsch.

Those players are way more established than McGovern who has had 1 ok season and maybe less than 10 good games in his entire career.

I think Mitch is at his ceiling and it’s not that high. If a team overpays for him they’ll get what they deserve. No way is he worth a top 5 pick like crows fans think. 13-25.

Not even in the same league!

Unfortunately Bill showed tonight that he simply isn’t an AFL ruckman... he was beaten by bloody Stringer!

He took some very very nice marks and should have slotted 3 I reckon, as I said over the past month or so - I would be absolutely happy to keep him around and develop him as a full time tall forward.
Excellent example of confirmation bias here. It was his first game, give him a chance before writing him off.

Averaging 3.7 contested marks across the year including 10 (ten!) against Coburg a couple of weeks ago. Worth a crack for sure.

My top three targets for this trade period:

Mickey Dimmish
Cam Donaldson
Andy Payne

Land them and Jesus Christ would be flat out getting a game for us next year...

All sorts if rumours but I think our club will play hardball this year and hold him to his contract. It fits our usual practice. Who really knows though and there is a somewhat credible source saying we may trade him.

We pay the top shelf around 800k as a rule by all reports although it's very likely we broke that barrier to keep Josh Kelly in a close run thing last year. It means we risk him leaving as a RFA next year. We probably wont be able to match the offers he'll get.

Would you guys be in a position to offer more do you think?

His wishes will drive any move. We will not be pushing him out.
