And isn't all this talk of 'How would Hawthorn do a deal?' overlooking the fact that this news could really just be the result of a young kid getting distracted by the latest shiny thing in front of him and vocalizing a half-cocked thought to someone??

Let's be honest, they're professional athletes, not Rhodes Scholars. Players probably wouldn't have the faintest idea of how things get done.

Not going to happen. The players association would not have a bar of getting rid of it. it takes away the power of free movement from the player

Players should have to fulfill their obligations to their contract and once their contract has elapsed then they can decide whether they want to look elswhere or recommit .

We are already a laughing stock....let's not care what opposition fans think. Let us just improve on the field and win some games. We have a core group of younger players that are edging towards 50 games and circa 23 years of age. I am hopeful they will exponentially improve

Tonight's exhibition by Richmond highlighted how far behind we are. It was just hard mature bodies playing relentless uncompromising football. We all acknowledge our spine is simply game time away from becoming very good. But tonight highlighted that apart form 4 top on balers you just need a core group of B to B+ players that are hard at it, give their heart and soul and stick to the team plan.

Watching them over he last 2 seasons its noticeable that they relentlessly move the ball forward at all cost. If in trouble the ball comes out moving forward at a 45 degree angle where they obviously all expect and run there. If none of these established players nominate us we need to select dedicated smart footballers with a bit of Mongrel that can follow instruction. The tigers have their quota of stars but more so they are fit physical and well drilled team. They developed well.

So now that Hawthorn etc are supposedly getting all the big fish that may be available (and not us.....again!).
Who the hell do we spend our salary cap on?
Keep Graham and pay him a million bucks a year.
May as well give Casboult 1.5 million.
I understand it's early days but forgive me for seeing a familiar pattern unfolding here.

That ‘in the know’ Ockham Razor guy from TC posted this just before:

Gaff to North if he moves.
Shiel still in play to Blues if he moves.
Setterfield to Blues.
Scrimshaw Blues or Hawks
All i care about is setterfield coming our way.
Happy!
