McClure: Vitriol and anger toward Gaff has been Vindictive and ridiculous. Not a football act, rightly copped the whack and is serving it.

Dal: The way the team mates were embracing him after the grand final... We laid the boots in too hard, he doesn't deserve to be called a dog.

http://www.afl.com.au/news/2018-10-01/trade-period-preview-who-will-your-club-target

Indicative draft picks: 10, 28, 39, 54, 64, 82

Delisted: Billy Hartung, Tom Jeffries, Mitch Hibberd, Oscar Junker, Gordon Narrier, Daniel Nielson, Josh Williams

Retired: Jarrad Waite

Unsigned free agents: Scott Thompson, Sam Wright

Whispers: The Kangaroos are already well positioned for a successful player exchange period with wantaway Port Adelaide wingman Jared Polec nominating them as his preferred new club and Gold Coast midfielder Aaron Hall also expected to seek a trade to Arden St. But North's trade period will go from good to great if it lands West Coast free agent Andrew Gaff. It's understood Gaff has narrowed his decision down to staying with the Eagles or joining the Roos, but the Victorian has given no indication which way he is leaning. Now the Eagles have won the premiership, he will take time away from the club this week to make a final decision. North is also interested in Swans defender Nic Newman, who toured Arden St recently, but contracted Roos ruckman Braydon Preuss appears set to push for a trade to Melbourne and defender Ryan Clarke has attracted interest from Sydney. Out-of-contract trio Jed Anderson, Scott Thompson and Sam Wright have yet to accept new deals offered by North.

McClure: I saw Gaff the morning of the grand final, and he looked.. broken.

Dal: Won't be known as a premiership player... yet.

McClure: 35 disposals in the '15 grand final when they got smashed.

6x900 from Eagles
7x1.2 from North

Dal: North were so welcoming and embracing, warming and engaging, you fit right in. Other clubs do it, but North are superb, led by Brad Scott meeting me the very first day I came across

Dal Santo: Higgins, Best and fairest, maybe 2, Got his body right. Norths medical team did that, got him playing like he is. Waite too! North have something in place, they have a place for you where you will be nurtured and develop

Sam Maclure keeps running with his more than $1.2m x 7 years offer by us v Weagles $900k x 6, pure speculation promoted as fact :p

Gaff: 7 years & $8 Million = $1,142,000 p.a.

Would be hard not to listen to NDS' fellating of NMFC and not be swayed if you were Gaff
Coming from a bloke who many questioned just how much he bought into the club too.

It's a telling endorsement

Dal just gave a glowing endorsement of the club.
I've never understood the criticism of Dal on the board here. He obviously still loves the saints but also has said favourable things about us too. He has to temper all that with trying to be impartial and balanced as a commentator that's where he rubs our guys the wrong way.
Good on him for saying what he is saying. He is just speaking from his experience with us and it goes to show he loved his time with us too.

Couple of interesting ones:

- Will Setterfield will be touring our facilities early this week. Don’t think he is sold on the idea of going to Carlton.

- although highly unlikely, Jarryd Roughead has been discussed as a short term option if talks break down between he and the Hawks. His Management have the feelers out to see if he can get some security for their client.

- We are keeping an eye on Zac Smith as a ruck option in the case we move Pruess on. Also have spoken to Tom Nicholls from GC.

- In regards to Pruess we are encouraging him to look at other options other than Melbourne. Believe we have been offered better picks from elsewhere, but convincing Pruess to go there will be an issue with his management set melbourne.

- Ellis has been enquired about. So has Tyson Stengel.

- Anderson has had his offer upped. Should sign soon. Had a lot to think about though with a number of other offers on the table.

- don’t think we will budge with our 1 year offer to Wright.

- LDU hired the same personal trainer as McKay last year. Putting in a mountain of work since the season finished up.

- we have had a few clubs enquire about Mason Wood and Nick Larkey! Obviously been told to piss off.

- Don’t Clarke will be at north next year. Sydney aren’t the only suitor. Gold Coast, Port, Freo. Gold Coast trying to get Dylan Clarke up to GC so bit of a link there.

- Garner won’t start full training until we’ll after Christmas due to another minor setback.

Sounds like we have developed a top notch culture, no wonder we are seeing players keen to come across.

Compare this to the clique issue at GC and the potshots being thrown out by the Port players and coach, Hall and Polec probably can't wait to get on board.

Lot of good stuff there, except for Garner. **** me, can we catch a break with that bloke?
