A realistic expectation. But the aim should always be 25 wins. And no lousy 1 point wins, make them 100+.10ish wins is a good aim I think. Play the kids lots, not getting hammered by 100 next season should be a goal.

Although there is at least a bit of history that shows that if a ball bounces one way OR the other, that chasm is not actually so big.
Mmmm na no they don't.Seriously. Do you reckon a head coach just stands in a room under the grandstand watching a tv monitor as the game unfolds and then wander back out to greet the players as they walk off after the game.
Terrible analogy. Head coaches have a lot to do with the outcome.
A chasm was the wording you used. A chasm between getting to a GF and winning one. Now you're talking about moments. And yet it opened up the following week.
The bounce of the ball and luck is bulltish. No game can be put down to one moment in the game. Every moment needs to be considered.
2) Our midfield is unproven and without Fyfe would be one of the weakest in the league unless we see big improvements from other players.
Couldn't squeeze Brayfield into the side?Hogan to build fitness, and play well in the 2nd half of year
Forward line to improve
Improved depth should mean peel finish top 3
Better run with injuries, resting players when sore
Cerra and Banshaw to show the benefit of a big preseason
Logue to cement his spot in best 22
At least 2 rucks off our list at end of year
Lobb to kick 30 to 40 goals
Ballas to be stuck in wafl
Sandilands* for sure, and I fully understand the hesitancy about relying on such an unproven midfield. We were beaten time and time again last season so expectations should be tempered. At the first centre bounce for round 1 2019 there's a fair chance that we'll see Sandilands, Fyfe, Mundy and Stephen Hill in the centre square. Obviously the experenience drops away quickly away from that quartet but there's about 800 games of experience between those 4.
Yes Tucker is the one that I want to see go to the next level like Langdon did this year. Physically he looks to have improved, now he has to deliver when it counts.Sandilands* for sure, and I fully understand the hesitancy about relying on such an unproven midfield. Conca, Walters, bHill, Blakely and Colyer can rotate in as experienced players. Can Tucker return us something?
We definitely still need to fast-track our emerging midfield and they will get lots of opportunity. Valente projects as ready to go and Bewley too. One of the descriptions I read about Schulz was that he was a clearance specialist, so I am interested to see how that pans out.
Exciting times.
* we do of course have Lobb to support Darcy.

He struggles to find a position, and a lot of posters on here (me included) don't have him as best 22. But his time is NOW.Yes Tucker is the one that I want to see go to the next level like Langdon did this year. Physically he looks to have improved, now he has to deliver when it counts.
May be optimistic, but surely you pick a 23 year old player like Bewley in the draft to play straight away?Fyfe, Mundy, S.Hill, Blakely, Conca, Walters, Cerra, Brayshaw and Banfield with B.Hill and Langdon on the outside is a pretty decent midfield.
I think our midfield can improve substantially from last year if we shift Mundy and Blakely back in and get much more than a dozen games from our best players.
The mix of the inside mids is important. Playing Fyfe, Neale and Mundy or Blakely together in the middle doesn’t work so well because we get hurt when the opposition spread due to a lack of pace.
If we replace Neale with either Blakely or Mundy and have S.Hill available to provide the pace I definitely think we can improve on last year

Oh yeah, I'm not saying he is best 22. I'm not sure Colyer, Tucker, Taberner, Ballantyne or Cox are either. But he'd be a legitimate contender pending form and opportunity. That’s the upside case. The base case will be to provide excellent depth when the first B22 winger goes down.
