A flag in the bag, a good draft haul, time to allocate numbers. Looking at jumper numbers, I thought it worth looking at best 22 by jumper number.

Picture the situation, kit bag with jumpers numbered 1 to 22 arrive and your match committee have to come up with the best 22 for West Coast with the one proviso being that the player must have worn that number in a senior match.

I had some time while watching the draft - not exactly a fast paced event so I digressed.

Sounds easy. But there are dilemmas. There were some pretty easy ones - Judd for 3, Beau Waters for 8, Le Cras for 19 - wait you could have him for 2 or 19! If you take him for 2, Kemp misses out!!!! Cox or McGovern - depend who else to ruck and CHB. I think you get the idea.

I saw Hansen there and just assumed that he was the only guy ever to wear that number. Early on he was pretty average, and then when injuries hit he became a tall who couldn't lift his arms above his head, couldn't pick up below his knees and had the turning circle of the Titanic.

Then I remembered Lycett also wore 29. Lycett for me there as ruck/forward. For the layout, Staker to CHF, Lycett to second ruck/fwd pocket and Hansen out.
