Not really, he won with a questionable nom and then was able to troll us all. He would've had the time of his life.
I see what you mean , but honestly , coming from one person who has been (justifiably) accused of taking this too seriously to another , William Wonka adds character to the song contest :) .
It just took me far too long to see it

Ulahoopski despite me being friends with por_please_ya , and having my musical differences with you , this was my rather unsympathetic reaction when she noted that her initial nom was accepted and then rejected after you looked it up:
“I’m glad that he’s hosting properly. Would’ve been far worse for someone to note that on the thread.....Good on him for hosting properly :)

And to her credit she concurred with me
“I am glad he’s checking properly”

Respect :)
**if you billy me despite giving me the credit where it was due for appropriateness , I might withdraw that respect ;)
Thank you. To my way of thinking, a playlist should be able to be looked at and listened to by someone who doesn't know the theme yet is able to recognise it from what they see/hear. That's it really.

I like a mix of themes , but the most important trait for me is that the theme should allow for diversity within a playlist . Sometimes I’m ok with vague /open ones like /songs you relate to , but when it comes to themes that are about topics or keywords , then I completely agree with what you said above :)

I also value , appreciate , respect and do my best to emulate diligent hosting 👍

And some hosts knock back noms that don't fit the theme. Time to let it go kids.

And let some through to the keeper.

But hey, no one's perfect bud.

And the instrumental isn't something you can hear and think "Oh! I know that, it's from that Drugs and Alcohol playlist"

But it's fine. You missed one. Everyone makes mistakes.

Apart from genre based themes, the diversity of a playlist is entirely up to nommers.

I dunno, I hear that tune and shudder because of my recollection of the movie. Without prior knowledge though, I might just think it is a lovely piece of music.

FTFY.
I, and quite a few others hear it and instantly think of Requiem For a Dream, a film that revolves around drug use.
Consider it an opportunity to expand your cinematic experience outside of just films made in your lifetime.

Gah. Still not well known enough. Not that I really mind.

It's horrible being apathetic. Too hard to build a reputation.

Ah well, it's not too bad I guess.

See you all next round, or thereabouts.

Would you have accepted this as a nom using that same logic?

That's a bit more familiar than Lux Aeterna so more likely to have other associations but with the right clip, yeah, why not? Besides, it would've been a laugh having SM carry on out about "Up" not having drug references.

Sorry Raven, it's this side by side business - my peripheral vision is rahooted.

I nommed that ages ago and got less votes than One Week by Barenaked Ladies.
Proof that people in this contest have brain damage.
