Needs to stay forward ... every time he's messed up, its been in the back half of the ground
He doesn't do enough though, Every one has to rotate around the ground and get involved.

Pretty average performance, I know we can play better so meh but I don't think we will be happy with it.

Positives
Smith
Hunt for 15 mins
Kicked 90 with no McDonald again
St John's bloke having a Carlton tinny

Negatives
Midfield
Brayshaws kicking
Conceding easy
Injuries

Probably the most lacklustre uninspiring preseason since like 2010

Scoreline flattered us in both JLT games, it has to be said.
Yeah, you could also say we find a way to stay in it when we’re ‘outplayed’. For the first time in a long time, preseason results don’t worry me. If we’re 0-5 in a couple of months, then I’ll be worried.

Berry didn't come on after Mays bump so make of that what you will. Agree nothing in it at all but bumping a player after they dispose of the ball will be heavily scrutinised

Only watched the first half but I can't say I was really impressed. 2m handball targets being missed, easy kicks missed under no pressure, defensive line being slaughtered, long bombs inside fifty..

Did it get better?
No it did not, 3rd quarter eerily similar to our second against richmond last week

Very sloppy performance. But we will learn more from than that an easy walk in the park 50 point win.

I’m not even concerned if we lose round 1, it’s all about where we sit at round 23.

You could see our players weren't trying that hard, just like last week. Which doesn't bother me provided we come out on top in rd 1.

Brisbane doing exactly what a building team needs to do in pre-season. Competing hard, learning to win, and building momentum. We smashed pre-season 2017 in the same vain, and it was helpful.

Actually thought we went hardest in the 2nd quarter and wrestled our way back into the game, then after a few injuries we went into preservation mode. We can easily go up a few gears whereas Brisbane was probably going almost full tilt.

All that bothered me about the game was the way we couldn't clear the ball out of defence. That was half the reason they kept slingshotting back in and scoring. I expect when the real stuff starts that the likes of ANB, Fritsch etc. will be gut running to free up space for the get out kick. Today they looked a bit lazy, though I wasn't there to see off the ball running etc. This is where we'll miss an aerobic marking animal like Hogan and, funnily enough we might even miss Watts - who was no animal but did used to get down the wing as a get out kick when Hogan was playing forward pre-TMac.

Joel Smith has locked in a spot against Port based off a very promising performance. On the other hand, Spargo had three bad games and dropped too many gimmes today. Would be surprised if he plays ahead of Jeffy rd 1.

gets him high misses round 1, has a history of brain fades
didnt get him high though. Stood his ground.

If that is a suspension, this game is ****ed
