I think it was a kick or a knee from memory, ruptured his testicle.
o_O If you don't mind umpire! How's your father!

Rang my son earlier and just speaking about general stuff i then ask him How's Dermie joining the Saints hey laddie!
His reply was " I'm just like a broken little girl right now " WTF?  Had to laugh! He has always had an almost pathological hatred for him you might say!
I take absolutely No responsibility btw! Prefer to deflect over to mum like a good Robert Harvey shimmy! :smirk:
So called awful Reality TV is turning the younger folk into Emo Zombies!

Im rapt with this. Derm is a lot smarter than his man child persona would have you think. Also, as someone who got on the piss with him one night i can confirm he's actually a ripping bloke.

Another good get for the club.

Now to get another ex hawk in next year- welcome Hodgey. Get it done Ratts

We've gone down the hit and hurt gameplan this year so why not recruit the master.

Derm might even teach our forwards how to take a mark and kick a goal in between ironing blokes out.

He never took a backward step but he never played on Plugger either.

Brereton knew how to impose himself on a game. He could sense when a game was up for grabs and seize the moment. That’s what took him from being a very good CHF to one of the best. If he can get that across to our forwards, this appointment will be gold.

I was wondering if Brereton might do a bit of work with the players in terms of mindset. At the top level in any sport you need to believe you're better than your opponent and I don't think anybody had a bigger ego than Dermie. Could be beneficial in helping the guys grab the game by the scruff of the neck.

'So Maxy, what I'm trying to impress on you is when you're out there on the field, you are the biggest, baddest, toughest, and prettiest player that has ever played the game... other than me of course, obviously... five premierships over here Maxy. 200 games, 5 premierships. Pretty impressive stuff... Anyway, where was I?'

More like:

Dermie: "Max, you have to believe in yourself. I did, and nobody has ever come close to inposing a contest like i did"

Max: " hold my beer..."

Many young players are coming into the competition , with little idea on when , where and how to lead , and bodywork. Nick Riewoldt has recently even commented on how young stars like Curnow and Daniher are going about some things the wrong way.
Dermie needs to devote most of his time to Max King , and make sure he is up to speed. I hope Dermie requests as much footage of Max's games at the dragons , as he can lay his hands on.
I'd prefer Dermie look after the talls and maybe include the young key defenders now and again.
Although he would have knowledge to impart on our smaller forwards , the above is where he will really make a difference. Dermie played within a great forward line , in the greatest era for forwards in our games history , and not only played against the likes of Lockett and Ablett , but played with them in State football as well.
He will be a great appointment.

I'm ok with Derm helping guide our young talls.
Ego and take no prisoners Kent training

I'm no champion FF but even I could see Paddy seriously lacked in forward craft. He's good at timing his leads and getting the jump on his defender but that's almost it. No big chest pushes before leading, poor body work most of the time (he looks much, much better when he goes an early hip bump or harder early contact rather than getting drawn into a grapple/wrestle). He can't even protect the drop enough to outmark caleb daniel.

But one of the best forward craft specialists I've seen is right in our backyard and we're not making any use of him.. fella called Milne. His body work and positioning was as good as it gets, constantly outmarking much bigger opponents. We should definitely have him down at the club in a part time capacity..
Also may improve the team's goalkicking!

I think Dermott is a pretender with his analysis. He never prepares for anything and runs on instinct. He might be good with one on one forward craft training for King though. Dermie is exactly the type a shiny new building attracts. Like a peacock guided to a peahen.

Yeah not knocking his knowledge of the game, but i can't see him as a guy who would show up at the club with a folder full of notes to impart onto the group. More like he'll watch training, find something he views as an inadequacy and work with the relevant player a bit.
