. Sam is a gun and I love him but he didn't have a great game today. I know i am gonna get smashed for having a different view to most sheep here.

You are wrong.........
Dont call me a sheep for one thing..and Sam had a terrific game other than his disposal being centimetres off.

I think it was good for the boys to play and win without their Superstar Hercules going in and getting the ball for them.

Cripps not being there would’ve changed their mindset.

Stoked to see the boys smiling

We are in a world where an 18 year old kid has a 30 disposal, 8 tackle game and have it considered shit. Yeah his disposal efficiency isn’t perfect but he’s a kid, he can’t be absolutely perfect.

Huge to do it without Cripps, who's perfectly suited to those conditions.

Love the improvement O'Brien is showing, I was scared he was a bit soft but seems to be playing with a new lease since Teague took over.

Was amazing. Absolutely incredible.
When daisy kicked that goal it was such joy.

Then they kicked a goal and I sunk my head into my scarf and just thought, not again.

But oh boy, Murphys goal. I was on that side, in that pocket, it was through the roof type stuff from the blues fans. Was loud and passionate.

Love the Blues, go you good things
Even the reaction at the final siren on that wing there were alot of Carlton supporters in the crowd.

So much to enjoy, so much to thrive on and so much happiness from a brave performance.

There's a few that surprised me in roles that seemed to have immediate effects. Jack Silvagni as a tagger. I haven't read above in the thread and apologies if it has been stated, but here's a few questions, can it continue to be this way? Will it? Should it? Have we finally found the role he is meant to have?

Matt Kennedy. I'll admit this, if it was me, I would have stamped his papers now. Can he join the forward line as a consistent contributor? To form a forward line (when healthy) of C. Curnow, McGovern, Mckay, Cuningham, Kennedy and another small/medium forward?

There's so much to enjoy about this. The players to return. Our captains Doc and Cripps for starters, the exciting thing is depth is finally upon us IF they're willing for that to be the case. Our off-season is going to be very interesting, all the more dependent upon how we go on our run home. I'm sure all of us at some stage after the first quarter thought "Oh great we're dead", then to fight back with that much heart and desire was inspirational.

As I was saying with depth, what happens to Casboult? He's not going to be the forward line and defenders are coming back and he's not the first selected there? I don't know what to do, especially since he's playing well, and that's the best bit of the problem, dilemmas at selection equal depth being found finally...which is very exciting. Although I still get worried with Jones disposal, tries to bite off more than he can chew on more than one occasion, this needs to be simplified for him, his attack nobody questions and rightly so, but afterwards still leaves heart in mouths sometimes.

Overall, speaking of hearts, can we please start better? So our homes won't need defibrillators!!!! Outstanding win, bring on the Demons this week.

I admit to writing off Casboult earlier in the season, but the 2019 version of Casboult is something we haven't seen before.

His consistency, hardness and composure has been remarkable this year since they moved him back. It's like the penny dropped and he finally realised he just needs to compete to have an impact.

His strength to get the ball out to Fisher in the final seconds was pivotal to the win. Good on ya big fella!

Agree. I have never seen a player develop a football brain at 30 years of age

The WA Blues are brilliant! Ever since Mike Fitzpatrick, Kenny hunter, buzz, Earl, Richard Dennis and other WA rippers played for us, the support in the West has been second to none.

Warms the heart to hear the WA Blues supporting our boys. Well done 👍

you forgot my favourites big Jon Dorotich and Earl Spalding (probably an age thing). also shout out to young armfield.

Dunno if there’s a spot for them after today. We still need to fit Crippa McKay Charlie and Cunningham back in somehow [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]
Our depth is coming along so well. So many things to look forward to with our list.

Out of interest, who was manning McCarthy today?

various, jones at times.

the goals he was kicking though, took a couple of great strong marks on the lead with the defender doing everything right and there was one on the fifty a meter in from the boundary. Defenders only letting him get the low percentage options but he is a great kick when on.

So Jsos gets a contract extension right ?
Does anyone on here still think he only got drafted because of his name ?
He needs to spend more time in the midfield thats for sure. Not sure how much more evidence we need.

If all the Silvagni boys have 3 sons, then they all have 3 sons. We will eventually field a team of only Silvagnis....

What a sight to behold.

We just have to bred them with athletic Women of different heights to get ruckman Silvagni and forward pocket Silvagni

EDIT: Rsos, HFFsos and BPsos is how we will call them.
People, this is what happens when you go out for the night with numbers.

Umpires were good today. We received at least three free kicks today for incidents near or over the boundary line. I suspect that McGovern's push on Guelfi last week will have rightly tightened up the awareness.
There were several jumper holding incidents (some for us and some against) and one blatant block (which sent the Freo fans nuts) all correctly paid.
I suspect that for some fans "prior opportunity" continues to be poorly understood.

Missed about 15 push in the backs against Kreuzer in the ruck contests though.

:rolleyes::frowning:

Can't wait until SPS gets some consistency in his game. He has sublime skills and will be one of our most damaging players. Luved his game.

He’s played 3 maybe 4 games like this in his first 50 games, he’s got to play about 40 like that in his next 50.

That is what a consistently good player does.

People forget that this kid is coming off a knee reconstruction, no preseason and hasn't even played 15 AFL games yet.

He's coming along nicely.
He could be the big improver in 2020.
