Really getting sick of you just naming the best 6 players on every team as if that is what makes a team good or not.

Its just plain stupid. It doesnt prove anything at all.

They had a lot of average players in that team: Suban, Pearce, Sutcliffe, Mzungu, Spurr, Duffield, Clarke

You can really tell a quality team by their bottom 6 players. Look at Hawthorns in that grand final. now THAT is a quality team.

So we finished 1st and we're average but Freo finish 3rd and somehow they aren't average.

You cant have it both ways.

We scored 300 points more than any other team in 2017. That's approx 14 more points per game than the next best team.

My point was Ross Lyon turned an average team into a contender. Look at the list of players in that 2013 grand final.

Adelaides 2017 team was definetly not average it was as you said built on the back of Tex JJ Betts and Lynch with cameo roles from Gov and CC

The scoring that year was amazing

Unfortunatly all 4 of those players got old, who ever managed to trade in Betts Lynch and JJ did a great job and we lucked out with Tex being an academy pick

Those records are virtually identical. If anything, Freo were a genuine contender (top-4 team) for longer than Adelaide. If you wish to argue that Lyons turned Freo from an average team to a contender, then the same must be said about Pyke and Adelaide.

Either Freo wasn't a dud team made to look good by Lyon's coaching, or Adelaide were also a dud team made to look good by Pyke's coaching. Take your pick. The option of arguing that Adelaide were a good team, but Freo weren't, is just plain ridiculous.

A full scale rebuild (forced upon us by poor list management and player development), a coach sacking not far away, a football department completely void of talent and enthusiasm, an unhappy fan base and a fairly bleak looking next few years (which will likely affect the club's financial position).

We will likely be bottom four next year and contending for the spoon in 2021.

I hope Ricciuto and Burton are happy. They've destroyed the chance of us being a contender for the next five years. Meanwhile they are continuing to put themselves over what's best for the club.

Can't wait for the review to conclude that it's all the players' fault.

They can forget getting any money out of me until they are all gone.

From memory we paid 8-10 years up front a few years ago to reduce liabilities over the coming years. The reverse of what Port are doing now.

We could be cutting a lot of players end of this season and getting the most we can out of each through trading might help us get lots of useful picks that we could bundle up for better picks.
