Our win against the Weagles was the proverbial, “Dead cat bounce”.

IMHO.... a coach loses his impact after a certain amount of time. Bucks has been around since 2012. No silverware. We look as though we are going backwards. Doing the same thing next year isn’t going to deliver the goods. If Bucks was to stay, major changes are needed... assistant coaches/player cull (delistings and/or aggressive trades)/ free agent targeting.
..... I wouldn’t be devastated if Bucks moved on... meh....

Never had any impact to lose. They did the refresh last year, couldn’t get the job done, normal services resumed this year.

Time for changes.

OUT: Mayne - Appleby - Crocker - Sier
IN: Greenwood - Scharenberg** - Elliott - Wills

Wills to play 60% midfield time, 20% forward, 20% bench.

** May not actually be a match up for Shaz, so i'd bring in Daicos or Tyler Brown.

All of the current long term coaches have got silverware. Those that don’t are under pressure ie Lyon, Hinkley. How does Bucks fly under the radar?

Firstly my question was what evidence is there that he’s lost his impact.
Do you have any?

To answer your question - any sound assessment would clearly find that a Coach making the GF and voted Coach of the Year would not be under pressure in the following year. Especially if his team had been in the Top 4 for most of the year.

Only an unsound assessment would pose your question.

Sink the boot into the cat, make it bounce a couple more times... fact is we have to ride this list and this coach to the bitter end now or go back to square 1 and look at some bad seasons before it gets good again so we have to work with what we've got. This might not be our season but we're not dead. This generation of players has a lot more shots to fire.

We cant even do that for the last years and next draft as the club mortgaged its future for 29 yo with hip and mental health issues.

2021 draft is taken by young Daicos, by all reports is a freak so that is a year we are best off avoiding a low end finish as well, to make the most of F/S.

Realistically not until 2022 we will have true live draft.

Definitely not under pressure in 2019 after 2018 GF and then sitting top 2 for 15 odd rounds.

But pressure will come in 2020 imo if the club goes out in straight sets or fails to make finals from sitting 2nd most the year, and then continues this slow chip kick style into 2020.

We need to bust our nuts to scrape in for 4th. Play Geelong at the G with Stephenson back and roll the dice, take our chances. If we’re good enough, we’re good enough.

We are in the process of getting skinned alive by a GWS team with their best midfield sitting in the grandstand....
Mediocre players who have had mediocre years continue to get games...
Our replacement options appear limited...
And the Tigers appear poised to deliver the last rites...
Where to from here?

Against any other team, the fact that players of the quality of Kelly, Coniglio, Ward and DeBoer were missing from the oppositions starting midfield might actually be a factor but still having Toranto (P2 2016 ND), Hopper, (P7 2015 ND) and being able to so effectively slot Greene and Williams into the rotations meant their starting midfield was still as good as the first choice group of many teams. They've still got other 1st round or very high pick mids who can't get a game like Caldwell (P11 2018 ND), Hately (P14 2018 ND), O'Halloran (P22 2018 ND), Bonar (P11 2017 ND), and others like Shipley (GWS Academy P64 2017 ND).

They had lost 3 in a row before they gave us an absolute fisting....

See, now this is analysis. It's not one eyed its exactly what we were up against. People saying how badly the Giants were hampered by injury....this was their best balanced side for 6 weeks. Why didn't they play Finlayson against the Tigers? Why didn't Mummy get to smash the Tiggies? And why didn't we pick someone (anyone) taller than Apples to play down back?

8 seasons - as we sit in 4th on the ladder now, it’s 7 seasons of falling lower down the ladder than the previous year...

The Rat Pack type culture Bucks hated so much as a player is now well and truly back (stevo and JDG).

So what is it that Bucks has actually achieved? I thought the plan was to rid the club of human beings with personalities and produce athletic robots that performed week in week out no matter what?

By any measure, Bucks has failed to deliver a more “professional” culture for the playing group and provide consistent performance year upon year.

“Normal services resumed “ - you have a problem with being Top 4 for almost the entire season.
That’s absolutely absurd.
No it's not, you have to look deeper than that. Carlton, bulldogs,Saints etc. we have struggled to beat just about everyone.

No - the big picture is our ladder position and the W column. BTW you do realize Bulldogs beat Geel.

No, the W's and ladder position were the "big picture" 2012-2017, looking deeper wasn't necessary. Now it's reversed. Keep up.

I think it's important here to test the theory in the lab before you roll it out an apply it.

THe question is "Does a dead cat bounce?" How far? From what height does the cat need to be dropped? What is the coefficient of bounce? There are a number of questions that are begging for research. We shouldnt be hasty with this....

Hey Trav - you were the leader of the “its the W column that matters” and bagged Bucks for years.
Now that W column has been healthy you’re still not happy.
Seriously mate - get a grip

And really the Rat Pack is back - I don’t see a Swan BJ Daisy Didak Heater Tarrant mischievous gang anywhere.

You are really clutching at straws - by comparison to the above group your own examples above clearly prove that culture is far better.
Sorry to use your own words against you.

I look forward to the next ill conceived offensive against Bucks.
