Based on where you see your club finishing where do you tink bombers will finish and what compo will you get , will be the same
Is there any precedent for that? Last I checked players are only traded a year ahead of RFA if the club is going to get more than the compo, otherwise why bother trading them?

Well your club would know his issue's and based on the last 2 years as well as the $$$$ you guys are paying him the club may see is as well we are effectively getting the same draft pick so why not move on earlier and use the money on a player thats going to atleast play and be part of our future.

But if you see your club finishing bottom 4 and getting a compo pick of say pick #5 is the 3 spot difference really worth paying $800/$900k for a player thats not playing and is set on leaving.

Then maybe your club see's finishing higher and could be pick #16 and the compo ends up being pick #17

Afl is a funny game. Been reported he is on 600k yet a player like Toby Greene is on 450k.

They got rid of Thomas for Martin the blue boys ? 🤦‍♂️

The Suns are expected to demand a first-round draft pick for Martin, having nurtured him through his key development years as they look to continue their list rebuild with Callum Ah-Chee also departing with the Brisbane Lions interested in the small forward.

Looks like GC will be playing hard ball yet again.

I didn't realise he'd finished 3rd in their BnF twice.

Finishing third in Gold Coasts best and fairest is like finishing third in a 3 person race.

He is worth bugger all, done very little to warrant much more than a mid second.
I actually think keath is worth a lot more than him. If Martin is not a sun player.

Took a pay cut...

If Carlton get Martin for less than pick 8 awesome if not its gonna hurt. Pick 8 (9) will get you kemp or day all who will be better players then Martin imo
I don't think Carlton going to just give up pick 8 without asking something back. They will get Day in what GC get from ah chee.

Is not a done deal yet but if you can turn pick 3/4 into stocker, Martin and Papley I think is a big win for your team. I doubt GC will take your future pick Knowingly your team on the up trend next year.
He's uncontracted. Not alot your club can do.

Greene still on like 800k average over the life of his contract, just pushed back payments to help the giants with cap issues.

Having watched jack Martin over his entire career cannot believe any club would offer him anywhere near $600k per year.
He has been a huge disappointment never getting even close to the wraps on him when drafted.
Yes he shows glimpses of talent but it happens in small doses.
A new club may well change his attitude both on and off the field, if not will be a huge flop.
One Brownlow vote in 6 years suggests he gave us very little.
The Suns will try a hard bargain during the trade but once again we will be the losers for what we paid.
Around pick 20 -25 will be it.

If everybody don't rate him, let him go to this year ND draft and see Fremantle and other club pick him up in the first round or not. Would case scenario Blues going to use pick 8 on him which is what GCS is asking for in the first place.

I dont see how any club is going to give up a first round pick for Martin.

You dont get to drop a 24 year-old a few weeks out from seasons end then turn around and demand a 1st round pick when he's uncontracted.

The "potential" bonus to value wear's pretty thin at 24...

Agree once Jack nominates CFC as his club of choice a 2nd rounder and perhaps swap of lower picks will complete the deal.

I don't think he last until GC Brisbane first round pick in this year draft. You can't paid player big money and pick him up as second Rd. Sorry actually you can Chris mayne for B hill.

What GC have to lost letting him go to ND draft, if you don't pick him at 8, GC just use Brisbane pick on him. GCS not going to use your second Rd pick and draft a nobody.

I think a fair trade will be made and both clubs know this , My view is his value would be between 15-25
Why not let him go to draft, I would like to see him last until second Rd. I rather see this in action and proved I am wrong. Will be funny Richmond pick him up and paid him cheap salary.
