Certainly looking that way
I think roo is taking the bull by the horns and means business now

Considering his track record, I take it that means we'll be relocating to Tasmania within 5 years.

Bizzare
Why would they want Betts back

Probably sentimental, or to mentor some kids coming through.

Bit of an odd one seeing he doesn't really fit, but if you don't have a lot of experienced players, could do worse. Mind you, it does seem a bit of an afterthought.

Looks like a majority of Port Power supporter don't want him to leave as they see the potential with his development in the SANFL (it's just because Hinkley loves Dixon/Marshall and traded for ready players in Ryder/Lycett, he didn't get his opportunity), just because of that we should convince him to leave and even offer him all of MacKay's $400K and since he is un-contracted, he will come very cheap.....5th rounder.

Melbourne made the PF last year, having built over the previous few years. Then they crashed severely this year, for no particularly obvious reason. Your guess is as good as mine as to where they'll finish next year. I wouldn't be surprised to see them finish 17th, and I'd be equally unsurprised to see them make another PF.
Would be interesting if they jumped up into the top eight. Tongues in the media would start to talk about tanking.

We'd just be back to early 2000s Melbourne at that rate.

That said, probably more season from hell then anything to do with tanking.

Dont be stupid people pick their own career over relationships all the time, a heap of university graduates here have to look interstate for jobs, sometimes your partner follows alot of times they don't, as much as you can compromise you still have to do what makes you feel happy and good.

There's nothing wrong with putting yourself first and following your own dreams. If that means letting someone go becuase they want extremely different things to you then that's what you gotta do.
You do what you have to do to be HAPPY.

If they get Martin, Papley and Butler (as rumoured), I really don’t see a need for Eddie from them? Surely they’d prioritise those three over him given age

That’s not what I meant.

I wasn’t saying they don’t need him, I’m saying it’s far from clear they even *want* him.

They definitely don’t need him, they certainly don’t want to pay him, and they could not have been more lukewarm about wanting him. Publicly at least

Not forgetting Carlton has been humping Brandon Ellis’ leg all year, but never ponied up a contract offer when it mattered

Hope Eddie knows what he’s doing

I watched Frampton at the SANFL GF.

For a 22 year old he is a big solid lad, leads well, uses his body well and likes throwing his weight around.

Definitely the anti Jenkins, would straighten us up and bring the ball to ground.

Not sure if he was having a bad day, he had plenty of ball coming in, outbodied his opponent, had a clear run but just didnt seem to mark the ball. Bit of a double grabber.

He wont be too expensive, its a no-brainer for me, get him in.

Thanks Mr Frampton I think we all get your excitement
Relax mate. I’m not overly excited at all. I’m justifying the trade. It is a cheap trade which addresses a need.
I’m simply providing some data for those who have no idea and think because he has only played 3 AFL he mustn’t be any good.
Port fans are furious with Ken for not picking him.
Bit like your unfounded love for Gallucci. You think he should be playing. Whereas I followed him in his draft year and even thought back then that he was a 2nd rounder at best.
Turns out I was wrong. He isn’t that good.

Frampton is out of contract and a mile back in their big man brigade....he'll come cheaper than that. He just has to nominate Adelaide as his preferred destination.
True. It should be noted that port have offered him a contract though, so they don’t want to lose him. I understand they don’t have a choice, but it could influence his trade price. It’s not like he’d be on the delist pile.

Tim Watson has just said that Brad Crouch is very close to signing with Gold Coast, we are trying hard to keep him.
Wouldn't surprise me if we're not budging on a deal longer than 3-4 years. He knows he's gotta get the longest possible deal he can now while he's shown he's healthy and in form. Given his career history that hasn't lasted.

Busted the webbing in his hand.
