I'd do Brad for Luko anyday.
Even one year.
Luko and one of those picks.
Play hardball. If he wants out, and I think it is just him pushing his Adelaide offer up, we need to make it count.
Luko and pick 2 or 3 plus our pick 4 set us up well into the future.
Or he stays. And we work it out next year.

As much as I rate Crouch the Crows need to be aggressive and hes the type of player we could cash in now before his body breaks again. Its not a time to hold us to ransom. If we could get pick 2 and a second. Id do it. Look at the Hawks when they built their dynasty. Getting good early picks and building a core group to have sustained success.

This is starting to smell of a big trade to come. Lukosius has not signed a contract extension and GC know we absolutely wanted him and no doubt still do. They might have been told by us to run the rule over certain players with a view to a trade. They might have thought by getting b crouch and greenwood in coupled with rowell and anderson that it sets up their midfield for the next decade in terms of the now and the future. Therefore to lose a guy albeit extremely talented to help fill their midfield may be worth the price. I will say that our pick 3 need not be any part of a deal if b crouch and greenwood are involved
Brad for Luko straight swap would be a diabolical trade for us. Brad is contracted and would be GC's best mid instantly. There is absolutely no way we're not asking for one of their top picks on top of Luko.

That would be a win for us. Brad has hit his ceiling. And can’t kick. Luko was always going to cost the world.

Brad probably wins our B&F, he’s a former no.2 pick, under contract, and spent most of the year in the top dozen or so players in the coaches award. He finished similarly in Brownlow, after tiring towards the end of the year
Brouch is very high priced, high quality merchandise
And so is Luko. Take your blinkers off. Brad is not the player you describe him to be. You honestly think we would be better off in the long run with Brad at the expense of Luko because we demanded too much?
Hawks and every decent list recently has been built by seriously compromised drafts through a combination of priority picks and bs f & s picks along dodgy sponsorship payments and in Sydney case cola payments none of which will apply for us.

Geez, the B&F night could be interesting. There might be more farewells than part three of Lord of the Rings. 
As much as I hate them, we need to take a note from the way Geelong deal with trades.
When Dangerfield wanted home they pushed the "he's given great service, you should let him come Home to be with his family, poor Dangerfield" narrative through the media.
Now Kelly actually has a genuine reason to want to go Home, Geelong are "screw Kelly, he is contracted and if you want him we want your entire club in return".
It is unbelievably hypocritical, but its in their best interests. We got smoked by Geelong because we again had to be the 'nice' guys.
Carlton have done the same to us with 'you have to pay extra for contracted players' over Gibbs. Now they want a contracted Betts for free.
Time for us to get tough and say screw you.
B Crouch is contracted. Greenwood is a required player (not really, but hey). If GC want them they can hand over picks 1&2. Otherwise see you later. (Happy to negotiate it down to B Crouch, Greenwood and Jenkins for 1,2 and Lukosious)

Yeah Brouch is going to take GC’s priority pick 1/2 or Luko at an absolute minimum
Thank god it’s them and not a team with less attractive assets, although I wouldn’t be surprised if his manager is just bumping his contract up

Nothing would excite me more than recruiting Lukosius and then watching him play 3 years of SANFL footy because his tackling isn’t where we need it to be.

In all seriousness, I still doubt we even contemplate* trading any of Crouch/Laird/Smith. They are all in their prime + important members of our best-22, and most importantly contracted. There is no go-home factor at play here. We just hold them to their contracts.
There's already going to be enough movement with Betts/JJ/Sauce/Keath/Greenwood etc.. No need to add to this, IMO. Picks 3 +21/26 + whatever we get in the other trades will be a good start to the rebuild.
*Having said this, I would contemplate, but only if godfather offers were made, e.g. something involving pick 1 or 2, or something involving getting Grundy.
