I friggen LOVE the fact that Diesel Williams is doing specialty 1-on-1 midfield coaching down at the club.

He's a legend with extraordinary smarts, competitiveness and insights into how to be elite even within some physical limitations.

Love it. None better for young guys to learn from. I feel supremely confident they will develop with Williams alongside them.

“Get this thing in my left hand as much as you can, deliver it to a teammate with precision, if you can’t find a teammate, kick the goal”
“Oh, and don’t take shit from anyone. The end”

You know that not-very-interesting Lexus of Brighton ad on radio that features Mick Malthouse... their big finish is "expect perfection, experience amazing".

Now I may be humble, simple country BF poster, but isn't anything - including "amazing" - less than "perfect"?

And therefore, is this entire ad not telling you this stunning organisation will consistently fail to meet your expectations?

I felt it was important to tell someone.

Ha, I too think about useless things like these. One could also be just satisfied if your expectation has been met so to be amazed implies that it was better than their own concept of perfection. They are now re-considering the madness that is perfection for mortals. Just sayin'

That's more like it, the Kane of old is back..

I still think something is wrong with him, when it came up I was thinking alrighty here we go. Didn’t go that hard at all, then didn’t argue with Plough when he gave a different opinion.

He has definitely toned down on trade radio, has he been told to pull his head in? Is he just scared of Terry Wallace? Or is it as simple as long season and Kane is tired

His stance is consistent. Wines was in his crosshairs last season too. Play on.

Does Charlie have a brother that could fly the flag for him like Ollie? 😛

Look I hate his opinions but have to agree with this one. Why someone coming off a knee injury would play basketball out of all sports is beyond me. I’m in no way a medical professional but it leaves me scratching my head

pretty sure most of the playing group follow and play pick-up basketball (most of the afl players do), telling them not to shoot hoops outside of footy is a kill joy. Like I said, seems like an unfortunate leisure accident.

Agree - they need to live their life. However I don’t think playing that particular sport off the back of a knee injury Was the smartest decision.

These footballers are elite athletes because they played all sorts of sports when they were kids, which helped build up their bodies, skills and decision making.

Basketball, and for that matter water skiing, are not inherently dangerous sports. Accidents can and will still happen.

Interesting, I heard it completely the opposite, pretty much ruling it out but leaving a small amount of wiggle room just in case.

I would be surprised if we take Bennell after those comments.

That was my take on it too. Normally SOS just dead-bats those questions with a "we'll see" kind of answer. This time when he was asked if we have any interest he said "probably not, but you never know" which is as close to an outright no as I've ever heard from him in this situation.

I see Juddy has decided to give FC the flick. Probably a smart move, he really shouldn't have to be in the hot seat every week when things aren't going swimmingly for us. The issue over the "training wheels" remark got so blown up and overcooked, it was ridiculous.
It seems he's putting his commitment to the club ahead of his media commitments. Good on him! :thumbsu:
