we didn't run out of rocks

Thats the entire point. Talk about running out of resources is piffle as technology moves on. See shale in the US as a great example.

He has some pretty serious competition for the most airheaded thing ever said on bigfooty

But credit due - hes given it a red hot go.

And then there are those to thick to grasp a very basic concept.

Economics and the business cycle both say there is no such thing as infinite growth, some might theorise about if it is possible but in capitalism everything has an end in its growth cycle which is why people talk about "late stage"

Business cycle yes, economics no.

A very basic concept is 6 million people worldwide vs 7.5 billion. More than 1000 times as many.

At our current rate of consumption its estimated that the earth can support 400 million people.

In the last 3 years the chinese have used more concrete than the us has used in the entire 20th century - substantially more.

And yet we are better fed than ever.

Malthus used to bang on about this. Malthus was wrong.
Actually we are fed on a grain based diet that is deleterious to our health and is leading to terrible levels of childhood obesity and adulthood morbid obesity.

The way we are achieving this is by unsustainable means that is stripping the soil to the point that it resembles beach sand. There is no life in it at all.

We are stripping more and more forested land as we progressively kill land via overuse and salinity

Its a pyramid scheme. A ponzi ripoff.

You sir - are either a shill or an ignoramus

"Labor frontbencher Joel Fitzgibbon says the party is losing the support of the blue-collar workers it was 'born to represent', as the ALP’s standing among men languishes at its lowest level since the final months of Julia Gillard’s prime ministership."

“Labor is losing the demographic it was born to represent: aspirational blue-collar workers,” Mr Fitzgibbon said. “Policy development and messaging must now focus on winning it back.”

"Labor senator Kim Carr said the party needed to junk identity politics if it wanted to win back blue-collar workers."

“There remains a problem for Labor with blue-collar families,” Senator Carr said. “The assumption that tertiary-educated people are going to vote Labor will compensate for the loss of support in other demographics needs to be viewed with considerable caution.’’

It's not "identity politics" that lost SE Queensland.

It was the Coalition telling retirees Labor were going to steal their savings.

Empathy training says it all really...
See thats the thing with christians that need that book to tell them whats right

Then go ignore what the book has to say anyway.

If you need a book and an imaginary friend watching over you to tell you whats right and wrong - you are lost anyway....

!0 years ago Kevin Rudd and Labor were two years into the first term.
Already, Rudd and luvvies had destroyed two Opposition Leaders - Nelson and Turnbull.
The third, newly elected leader Tony Abbott, was universally despised and derided by luvvies and their fellow travellers

The Rudd/Labor verities were :

1. Opening the northern borders to the PEOPLE SMUGGLER trade.
2. Man made climate change SCARE.
3. Protection for CFMEU.

Over the next decade as LOTO, PM and then backbencher Abbott politically destroyed them comprehensively.

And the resulting problem for left wing politics in Australia is that 10 years, 5 prime ministers and 4 losing elections later they are still dependent on .....

the same.three.verities.

No future can be seen without change. of these policies.

Abbott didn't really stop the boats FWIW.

The main problem with immigration was always the 'tarmac invasion' anyway, which neither the ALP nor the LNP have really addressed.

The problem for left wing politics in Australia is that they're held to a completely different standard. If the press had reported on this government as they had the R/G/R years we'd have a Labor government today.
In before "nice melt".
Held. To. A. differently. Standard.

Wrong.

Just another one of the myths that stops the Left from growing up and making rational decisions.
