Very big on Bad Blood, both versions have their unique parts which I like. I Knew You Were Trouble and 22 are absolute bangers, too. Less a fan of her latest stuff, but Fearless, Red and Bad Blood I can listen to from front to back no issues.
Have you heard Ryan Adams' cover of her 1989 album? Some very good takes on her tracks on there. His version of Style is kickass.

Not that big on I Knew You Were Trouble. 22 is great, her latest album is very good. Reputation not so big on.

State of Grace, Red, Welcome To New York probably my three favourites. Love Style too. Really like Fifteen and Hey Stephen too.

All Too Well is probably her best song.

I haven't heard the cover but I'll chuck it on at some point this weekend.

I think they're incredible if for nothing else than the vast range of their music, the content of the music, and the rapidity with which it was produced. It's very reminiscent in some ways of Shakespeare and the volume of work that he put out over a relatively short period of time.
Oh 100% they were fantastic for creating so much. It’s very impressive in its own right especially when artists these days don’t churn them out nearly as often due to touring/success/laziness.

I think tastes/genres change too much over time to say they would have the same success now. There's some songs that they did like Love Me Do & She Loves You that were massive for them back then that wouldn't have the some pop appeal now. But something like Helter Skelter or Revolution I think would have massive cut through, more than perhaps at the time as well. Another with that bit of a whack type song like I Am Walrus would have the same cut through as it did back then.
That’s a fair assessment. These days a lot of pop has the skrillex-esque beats behind it so can’t see it transferring over in my opinion. I could see their experimental stuff being successful in the more underground circles.

About to say Ryan Adams cover album is great. Shame he’s been thrown in with the #metoo movement (not condoning his actions).

I was wrong earlier when talking about my favourite cover of all time

It is without a doubt this. This song would also be in my top 10 favourite songs of all time, hands down.

My old mate Bruce might have wrote it, and while I don't mind his version, this is infinitely better. I could listen to this on repeat for hours. The arrangement is a million times better.

Yeah that one is a cracker Cruyff but I am going to approach this question from being familiar with the original tune first, so for me that rules out easy options like All along the watchtower and I fought the Law.

I’m struggling to think of a good example though - I’ll post when one comes to mind!

Another good contender would have been Without You by Harry Nilsson but I was not familiar with the original by Badfinger when I first heard it. Conversely Mariah Carey’s version is an abomination. A cover song that I actually can’t stand that a lot of people really like is Mad World by Gary Jules. The original version is much better.

Very difficult question.

Honestly not sure.

I finally thought of one. When I heard this for the first time I finally realised perfection can be improved on

Favourite cover would be this one. Came out when I was in year 8 (I think) and still listening to the original. Then this came out and I was hooked straight away. Plus, two FIFA favourites (The Kooks and Kids) combining was a match made in heaven for 14 year old me.
