How? If you're asymptomatic, you still test positive like McKenna did. If you test negative, it means the virus is not in your system.

no mate it doesn’t. It means there are not enough antibodies (think this is the correct term might be wrong) in your body to trigger a positive

So, we all could have it then and the lockdowns and restrictions are pointless?

If the AFL was smart they would get all teams out of victoria this coming week and set up hubs in perth, darwin, adelaide, alice springs even.
I'm not sure the other states would agree to that would they? SA is already talking about closing the border with Vic, I'm not sure they want hordes of potentially infectious AFL players descending on their states.

not correct. Different studies show different results. We don’t even know if 14 days is the max incubation period. There is so much they don’t know about Covid
So what was the point of starting the whole season if a negative test isn't enough? The AFL are acting on the Department of Health's advice.

A carrier usually means someone that has the virus, but is asymptomatic (eg Connor McKenna).
Because he is a carrier, the rest of the players are isolating for 48 hours until it is determined that they do not have the virus. If it comes back negative, it means they didn't catch the virus from McKenna.

McKenna tested negative 5 times, meaning he caught it this week.

2 hour delay now for the last game tomorrow so they can clean the whole Metricon stadium between games.

Can someone explain to me why they fixtured 2 games back to back at Metricon, rather that using the vacant Gabba?

They pushed both games back, though. I think the delays are to push them into the more desirable TV timeslots.

oh crap. Now we have 4 clubs

Probably 5 with the way GWS went the man not the ball last night if we're drawing that bow. Though did Mckenna play in any previous games / share a plane?

14 day quarantine upon arrival. Season paused for next two weekends other than games already scheduled for qld hub.
yes fixture will be out of whack for a while but it can continue

if VIC becomes a hot bed for covid again, its gonna force the AFL's hand into having to do this

They cant postpone the season for another 4 weeks if VIC goes into lockdown

McKenna and the rest of the players tested negative on Wednesday. He had an irregular test on Friday and tested positive this morning.
All of the players tested negative on Friday except McKenna, but obviously they'll all quarantine themselves for the next 48 hours until the new test results comeback.
Apparently Stephen Dank conducted the Wednesday test though. So does that count?
