Didn't Wayne have the Roys the biggest dropper in the league in his posting stats thread and that's before they lost IDC?

If expansion goes ahead the Demons weaken. The Furies have some really good activity coming in, Sterge may be a bonus if his fifth return pays off.

What sterge is leaving, again?

Well look, I'm not going to be losing sleep if the bids are rejected.

I do think they left their announcements way too late and haven't helped themselves in many ways.

That said, I think there's a lot of overreactions from the conservative Anti-Expansion brigade.
The exhibition games and open challenge schtick that they've started to run with in the past couple of weeks. They should've started doing that Round 10.

Staging an exhibition match during Grand Final week. Which genius thought of that? And who approved of it?

Will it interfere with the match thread?

Will it interfere with the game itself?

Maybe a new audience might be watching?

Do you think the new recruits to the two clubs will be watching the GF thread?

Or invest their time into watching what their prospective teams may look like?

See above for a non biased perspective KP.

Uhm, MC?

It's already happened

if they did that, everyone would have had a go at them for disrupting the season. All the existing players were in their current team game threads, a bunch of new players need direction. You also cant expect new players to hang around not in teams for an extended period. There really isnt any other way than what they have done, establish a list during a season, make a bid late in the year and play some games in the offseason.

Not sure what your point is, I'm saying that they should have started doing exhibitions WAY earlier than the last week of the season.

Exhibition games would have the same disruptive effect as media threads have on match threads. None.

You're gonna make a media piece partly due to you making a media piece partly due to you making a media piece partly due to you making a media piece partly due to you making a media piece partly due to you making a media piece partly due to you making a media piece partly due to you making a media piece partly due to you making a media piece partly due to you making a media piece partly due to you making a media piece partly due to you making a media piece partly due to you making a media piece partly due to you making a media piece partly due to you making a media piece partly due to you making a media piece partly due to you making a media piece partly due to you making a media piece partly due to you making a media piece partly due to you making a media piece partly due to you making a media piece partly due to you making a media piece partly due to you making a media piece partly due to you making a media piece partly due to you making a media piece partly due to you making a media piece partly due to you making a media piece partly due to you making a media piece partly due to you making a media piece partly due to you making a media piece partly due to you making a media piece partly due to you making a media piece partly due to you making a media piece partly due to you making a media piece partly due to you making a media piece partly due to you making a media piece partly due to you making a media piece partly due to you making a media piece partly due to you making a media piece partly due to you making a media piece partly due to you making a media piece partly due to you making a media piece partly due to you making a media piece partly due to you making a media piece partly due to you making a media piece partly due to you making a media piece partly due to you making a media piece partly due to you making a media piece partly due to you making a media piece partly due to you making a media piece partly due to you making a media piece partly due to you making a media piece partly due to you making a media piece partly due to you making a media piece partly due to you making a media piece partly due to you making a media piece partly due to you making a media piece partly due to you making a media piece partly due to you making a media piece partly due to you making a media piece partly due to you making a media piece partly due to you making a media piece partly due to you making a media piece partly due to you making a media piece partly due to you making a media piece...?

I thought it was a terrific idea. I checked in and had a look, it isnt like it overshadowed the GF.
It got the new teams on the board when a lot was happening with awards and what not to show the new players what it was all about.
10 out of 12 teams didnt have there own match thread and was able to follow the exhibition.

Hate just implied the exhibition game distracted from GF week.

If existing players were contributing in their own and an exhibition thread, there would be loads of anti expansion talk.

Yes, they lose a number of posters. Despite this, only one that has a material effect on output. I'm not here to measure culture and I'm sure mang's got his own views. But the Demons would still be a top 2 list, if not the strongest.

The stench from that thread could be smelt a mile away. In the end, I will credit them for a stroke of genius; they can say that the Grand Final thread overshadowed their thread, and that it was not indicative of the quality of both expansion lists.

Well ya got me on a projection.

Expansion for all!!!

Its akin to holding your teams best and fairest during the Mobbs Medal, in the Mobbs Medal thread.

9B) Veto Of An Executive Decision
If a significant portion of the Committee believe that the Administrator has made a decision that will have a dramatic negative and long-term effect on the league, any Committee member can propose a veto. If the proposal is seconded by another Committee rep then a vote involving the entire Committee is to take place. A majority vote will allow the Committee to block or reverse an Administrator's decision.

"a dramatic negative and long term effect"

I hope the Committee understands the difference between disagreeing about expansion and a decision that would supposedly have dramatic negative and long-term effect on the league.

In my leadership group, I voted no for expansion. I was the dissenting voice.

Everyone has the right to veto.

But I look at 9B, and whilst I don't agree with expansion, I can't see a DRAMATIC negative LONG TERM effect.

Didn't a captain once host his team BnF in the GF thread?

I thought it was the Mobbs, could be wrong, but it definitely happened in one of those threads.

Pretty sure it was the Bombers as well.

I'm not sure that's Hate's point and even if it was I'm making a different one.

Nobody is ever voting in favour of a bid full of invisible posters. Its all about building publicity, after the initial announcement of the bids, there was a flurry of activity, then they went dormant for months during which was the most important time to be making a case.

And if people are coming in with anti-expansion talk, GOOD. It's an opportunity to demonstrate that you've got a core of posters that can take same heat and push back.

Because of expansion, a team that has been part of the competition for the last 10 seasons plus has to fold as they don't have the numbers.
That's dramatic.
It's negative (For most teams anyway)
And folding is pretty long term. Took the Swamprats nearly 10 seasons to come back.
