Feel for Howe too, rotten luck and it looked rather nasty. Fingers crossed for the scan results

Haynes seemed to be playing on WHE who was hiding behind him and no chance of interrupting his marking capacity. I didn't think Hayne was more influential than Moore (or Howe) who had much better quality opposition in Cameron. WHE didn't make him earn much tonight.Nick Haynes was amazing. He played so well. 10 intercept possessions. He only had 16 possessions. We turned the balk over 10 times to him.....
Absolutely, WHE is a major concern, as is T. Brown who is being thrown to the wolves when he is obviously not ready for senior footy yetHaynes seemed to be playing on WHE who was hiding behind him and no chance of interrupting his marking capacity. Just like Malthouse cost us a flag in 2007 by refusing to recruit a real ruckman for all those years (funny what happened in 2010 once we got one), Buckley's cost us a flag (or two) by refusing to recruit a KP Forward.

Strong disagree. Fumbled all night, always chasing tail, close to being the slowest, least agile player on the ground. In a midfield that got shown up for class and pace he was an absolute liability. He is mediocrity personified. He weakens our midfield in the same way Cox weakens out forward line when the ball hits the ground.
Play Sier. Play Rantall. Play Mark ******* McGough, at least that bloke had a clean set of hands and a decent football brain. Rupert ******* Wills, my god.
they probably have a life where their happiness doesnt revolve around winning a footy match. take pendles for example, goes home to alex and the baby. considers a few more years playing and then either coaching or media. considers multi million dollars contracts in said careers. no wonder he's smiling. we really need to get more players in the team like josh thomas and rupert who have nothing to look forward to.
Alright let's be realistic can't have Tyler Brown Callum Brown and daicos is same team if we want to best top tier teams. Also Degoey Tyler Brown and Hoskin Elliott with 0 tackles is pathetic!
What a nonsense.
Pretty sure we chased Tom Lynch hard while Buckley was coach. Effective tall forwards aren't that easy to find. Look at players like McCartin, Patton, Schache, all of whom have had top 3 draft picks utilised on them, for very little return.
Ben Brown is an exception, but recent excellent tall forwards have often come from priority draft selections - Lynch (GCS), Cameron (GWS) which we haven't had access too
and look at the AFL goal kicking at present
- Tom Papley, Harry Perryman, Charlie Cameron, Toby Greene......Brodie Mihocek
We've actually got the highest scoring tall forward in the competition playing for us and he is a rookie selection.
There are not that many high scoring tall forwards in the competition. Guys like Riewoldt and Hawkins have been around forever.
The next generation are the King boys at GCS and St Kilda, both of whom were top 6 draft picks and you don't get too many of them when you keep finishing Top 4.
This is not an easily solvable problem with a salary cap and without top 10 draft picks. Maybe we revert to Darcy Moore as an option again once Will Kelly comes on. But Darcy is currently a star down back and helps set up our miserly defence.
agree. Tyler is the first out. Daicos and callum have earned one more game.
problem with Cox is exactly what Kane Cornes said: we Become predictable with him. Long ball to the square every time.
Poor loss. Can’t afford to drop games like that. So poor over the ground for most of the night and didn’t make enough of it when we were better.
Forwards looked lazy, some soft efforts at the ball and some horrendous skill errors at times.
Disappointing night and lost Howey on top of all. Fingers crossed for him.
And we lost the GF by 5 points and the preliminary by 4 points in consecutive years. Just getting in some early season rehearsal I see. Everyone moves on. That doesn't mean you can't express your frustration and disappointment. I think I would give it away if it was possible but it's too deeply embedded in my DNA and blood. But I stand by everything I said. The pain and angst far outweighs any joy in this game.
Wow, see our BF brethren don't disappoint. All the plaudits last week and now we're no better than bottom 6 (lookin at you TD).
Haven't read through the whole thread but it's clear the mantra is the sky is falling in, like season over. Is it really?
Yeah we had em on toast in the last and sprayed our opportunities.
Perspective: on foreign deck up against arguably the most talented team in team in the comp who by the way would be seething on their last two outings.
We're we good? Nah, hell no - sure in parts we were, premiership like good but you can't be 'good' for a whole game especially against a talent laden team like that and especially a p155ed off one.
What I did like was we gave ourselves opportunity in the last to win it. As much as that was frustrating for Nathan and all of us, none the less we have the ability to wrest the game in our favour, against super opposition, on their home deck no less.
But nah season over right?

I genuinely think it’s actually our midfields inability to give them enough good opportunities. Something breaks down between half back and half forward on the regular, and Pendlebury was the only one yesterday that seemed to be able to properly penetrate going into our forwardline. It needs urgent attention because we never rack up winning scores against the best teams. We have no key forwards and time and time again that lack of quality there exposes us.
What a nonsense.

Does anyone know where Lyndon Dunn is at with his fitness? Is he still in rehab or has he been playing in the scratch matches?
Great news. Thanks![]()
Scratch Match Review: Round 4 v Bulldogs

Has absolutely nothing t do with the mids. Cox and Mihocek were getting beaten pointblank all game until Davis got injured. They inspire absolutely zero confidence in the midfield as they can’t beat their man and are getting out marked so the mids are hesitant and don’t want to pull the triggerI genuinely think it’s actually our midfields inability to give them enough good opportunities. The mids delivery into our forwardline is consistently shithouse. Hardly ever is the ball put to the advantage of our forwards, while every other team seems to be capable of picking out targets at will.Has absolutely nothing t do with the mids.
