Because they can't be.... the area has had 63 confirmed cases and their residents deliberately ignored self-isolation rules when they had tested positive back in March.

Now today they can't even follow the Stage 3 Restrictions the day after they've been reimposed. How thick do you have to be to ignore the health advice on the first day?

How inept do the police have to be to not enforce this shit properly

I see you have been on a rant about the beautiful Peninsula all day so i will just leave you with this.

If the MP were one of the worst back in April they are now equal best in July, it looks like WE learnt our lesson and are moving on with flying colours and are currently covid FREE and enjoying the beautiful sights this part of Victoria has to offer, maybe you inner city, westerners and northerners should do the same and stop thinking your sh*t doesn't stink and grow the fu** up and stop ruining it for everyone who was doing the right thing.

Doing the right thing?

Doing the right thing would be not breaching the current restrictions put upon where you live to watch a group of Whales. If you want to go about your day in a normal way; maybe people in your LGA need to "do the right thing" rather than breaking the rules on the first day.

Daniel Andrews wasn't talking about my behaviour potentially extending the lockdown during today's Press Conference--- but he did refer to the selfish actions of a few whale watchers today.

I will never ever get fined from this pandemic, why, because i know all my answers, only stupid people get fined.

And what makes you think i am not doing the right thing ? and i want you to give me an answer.

You keep going on about being able to do whatever you like because there are zero active cases.

So you are either not doing the right thing or being deliberately obtuse.

your answer is exactly why they should implement zero excuses and serious fines if people want to play games or can't be serious then have a 50k fine no questions asked

I can do whatever i want and i haven't broken any rules, and you know what is the best thing about this lockdown, what i did for the last 6 weeks is what i can continue to keep doing for the next 6 week.................now about that whale watching, might go tomorrow while i am walking, doing some stretches, jogging while looking out over the water, see no rules broken.

Which is why they need to make it a proper lockdown, these mickey mouse lockdowns will just lead to either rolling lockdowns forever since there is no promise of there ever being a vaccine or we just get over it and go full Sweden.

Virus is here forever, one day they are just going to have to admit they will never eradicate it and the world is going to need to learn to live with it just like any other virus.

Can't stay locked down and hiding away from each other for the rest of time, one day state and international borders will need to reopen and life to move on.

If you keep jumping at shadows and closing down every time there is an outbreak then we might as well just blow the planet up now and be done with it because unless we learn to live with it, that is how it is going to feel unless you go **** it, it's my life and i'm not letting some panicked leader take it from me.

I have made the point before that Dan Andrews lock us down to prepare the Healthcare system - he then increased ICU beds by 4000.
So even 50-70 people in ICU is not a crisis given what the projections justifying 4000 beds must have been.
If fact Dan Andrew would have laughed if told in March, in 4 months our use of ICU beds would be low, and he would have thought it comical , if some had told he would call a second lockdown with 5 people in ICU.

The current numbers have fallen so far short projections of mayhem and “true” crisis that people are rightly questioning the need for a second lockdown.
Because you have to react to the possibility, not the reality.

It's possible cases per day keep going up. If you go into shutdown when your getting 2000 cases a day, and your ICUs are all full, it's to late.

So react now, and try to stop that scenario happening.

Les Malone then going off about how it's all hysteria is just another cross to bear.

Personally, I would rather he keeps posting, see, I was right, it's all rubbish. Than have a situation where he has to rethink.

Early doors here in Perth it was the western suburbs (ritzy) who were brushing it off and going to the opera. Now we have lost the rich kids claiming the dole and job keeper - taking the mickey. I am pretty sure this doesn’t care about how much coin you have.
Going to the opera? When exactly did that restart?

I agree he needed to prepare for the worst initially - but now with all the stats and knowing this is predominantly an asymptomatic disease there no need for a lockdown.

I'm no scientist, but I'm really intrigued that the virus can lurk below testing detection levels and then become active again in the right conditions. A bit like herpes and aids

Meanwhile in WA .- After fifteen flights arrived in Perth from Victoria in the last few days the WA state government has clamped down hard and banned arrivals from Victorian from today .Also set to seek limits on overseas arrivals with quarantine hotels at capacity .14 active cases from os in recent days in Perth.
-the high court challenge to WAs hard border via Clive Palmer has been posponed for a further 14 days .The prime ministers stance and comments regards overseas arrivals not appreciated by WA state government.

The whole thing is about....Covering for the incompetence of the Quarantine Hotels.
Wanting the people in the West to think we are not discriminating against them, just because they couldn't follow instructions. All in this together type crap.

Again; this isn't true. The 'people' in the West for the vast majority, as in, > 99% of the population of these regions, were following instructions and doing the right thing.

Localised postcode based lockdowns in heavily urbanised areas were always tenuous and arbitrary, you only care now that you're affected by it.

So which strategy are we following for VIC now:

(A) suppression

(B) NZ - elimination

(C) Sweden

Surely (b)??

(D) being forced to reduce numbers to whatever the rest of the states require to allow the borders to be re-opened.

Once NSW shut the border the VIC Government was basically forced in to another lockdown as clearly unless our numbers are almost non-existent, we'll remain cut-off regardless of what our internal strategy is.

If a company director maintains an unsafe workplace and someone is badly injured or dies, they can be personally sued or imprisoned?

What is the case if the owner of a Security company allows a virus to escape, and someone who can trace it to that event, has long term disability or death from it?

In both cases they are free to try to blame the incompetence of their employees.

It depends; if the training and vetting of the guards employed was sufficient, then it's likely on the individuals. If it wasn't, then the company would likely also be involved.

Seems from what we've heard it was a combination of both.

so can coll and geel still come to WA?

I believe so, as they exited VIC prior and will have been out of the state (and should be under some kind of quarantine arrangement where they can play one another whilst in WA).

Locals can overreact and get protective. Should have seen Kalbarri here in the West. Needs a fact check but crikey Bill if even remotely true.

Pretty sure they have followed all the rules ,filled in the paperwork undergone the tests and procedures so they are fine.
The bans are more to do with Victorian residents just thinking they can do whatever they like.

0 infections, you said they can't be trusted, 0 infections says they can, keep being outraged.

I'm not outraged but its stupid.
Social distancing is a safety net.
You go to a crowd like that you have no way of knowing if one of them is a stupid security guard or not.

If one person there had covid, there "might " be a chance you can catch it from them.

Supression is ******* dumb it will just lead to rolling lockdowns with no promise of an actual vaccine just hopes and dreams

I've eliminated it, why can't everyone else .

There are zero active cases in most places, until such time an active case goes there.
Quite often we don't know there are not zero active cases there until a week or so later.

If the nearest known active cases are a million miles away from you, you can feel more certain than if the nearest known case is an hour's drive away.

What type of fines should the idiots mentioned below expect to get when they're nabbed?

You could put them in a quarantine location that makes the commission flats in Melbourne seem like a Noosa resort.
Impound their vehicle and caravan. ( they can have it shipped home at their own expense ).
After 3 weeks quarantine in a small cell with no windows, ship them home in the back of a Divvy van ( i miss divvy vans ).
Also check their vehicle for towing capacity, lots of dumb people think any 4wd can tow any van.
