bit off topic but how can this fool knowingly nominate for anything?

"I can feel the uncertainty they crave!"

This is the Dr who is from Cedars outbreak in Coburg, he also had his licence cancelled in 2012 for putting his hand in a woman's vagina when she was in his care.. If this is the quality of councillor we get to vote for then we're ****ed. Thank God I moved from Moreland.

Thank you, Victoria – Australia as a whole is healthier and wealthier because of you

Thank you, Victorians. Your determination to crush the second wave of Covid-19 has delivered me, and the rest of Australia, enormous health, social and economic benefits. Your resolve, your patience and your sacrifice, means that the rest of Australia has been able to open up our personal and economic lives. The nation as a whole is healthier, wealthier, and indeed wiser because of you.

While nothing can be certain, it’s likely that – absent another Ruby Princess or quarantine hotel debacle – Australia will experience a relatively normal, if socially distant, Christmas this year while North America and most of Europe prepare for the human and economic costs of ongoing deaths and disruption. Since July, the United States has averaged around 50,000 new cases per day and, since opening up their interlinked economies too early, countries such as the UK, France and Italy are all now experiencing thousands of new cases per day as their second wave of infections roll across the continent.

My only question now is, what happens if a vaccine is never found for this, is this how we live for the rest of our life ?, because everyone is banking on a vaccine as the saviour to go back to our past life.

we have multiple vaccines already at stage 3, with scores behind them

nothing is a guarantee, but the odds on this one are better than usual just because of the sheer volume of resources being thrown at it

we have vaccines being used in mass trial numbers in Russia, two in china, the yanks are weeks away from their first one, and the oxford trial is still proceeding

add to this, the work on therapies to treat the infection and better testing technologies continue.

A Vaccine is not the only fix being researched
A Treatment is also on the way (in fact several treatments....think Flu treatments)

Yep, that'd be about right from a rich old white guy. He's seen all the benefits with none of the pain.

Meanwhile there are 48 LGAs in Victoria with zero active cases, much more than LGAs with active cases

I asked the question last week, if melbourne had a brutal lockdown from country vic - which meant it would have a longer disconnection from country vic, but country vic could resume ties with NSW and SA on similar covid restrictions to them, what would you want.

the universal response was too much of country vic is tied to melbourne, and it cannot be cut off from it

as long as melbournians for work and essential travel need to enter regional vic, regional vic cannot return to covid normal restrictions

I’ve got a quick question for the 🐑 who keep trying to defend Dan

One of your favourite lies is that Dan Andrews was responsible for the hotel quarantine program being devised by national cabinet. Yet last week in his evidence to the inquiry he said the first he was aware of it was in the pre national cabinet meeting memo on March 27 a suggestion by Brendan Murphy that they quarantine all arrivals.

You’re thoughts?
1. Calling people sheep isn't a good way to get legitimate replies. If you want a reasonable discussion be a reasonable person. Shouldn't be that hard.

2. To your actual question, then it is less embarrassing. If Dan didn't come up with HQ we are no longer the state that thought of the idea and ****ed it up, we become the state that just ****ed it up.

Today's numbers will be interesting. Our rolling 14 day average drops off the only day with numbers above 25 so we could drop to a 13 or lower average

Experts are saying a vaccine is unlikely as one couldn't be developed for any other covid or novel covid disease and this is no different.
The best hope is a cure which is looking more likely.

As of late last week AstraZeneca has yet to get FDA approval to resume its coronavirus vaccine trial, nothing in the media has indicated it has given approval, only an idiot would take a Russian vaccine, America three weeks away is just Trump spin, and only an Andrews supporters would believe China has two.

Good news.

We will be moving into the 14 day window for the next step soon, we can't afford many days like yesterday to meet that target.
A good thing to take into account is that the 14 day average for the 18th (when the decision is made) will be from the 5th-18th of Oct. So the past few days won't count in that average. But they could be days we look forward to dropping off because they inflate the average. Just like how today was lost a day in the 40s

I've got a sense if we stay in single figures regardless of it being slightly over 5, he will move to relax restrictions anyway

I wish I had your optimism but I think the amount of unknown cases might stymie that somewhat

Unknowns are falling too, and the chaddy response is a good example

I was tested yesterday Arvo, but because i was in a hotspot my result was accelerated (got it around 8am)

Were you unwell, or just boosting No's.

Headaches and fatigue. Message was if you had been in the chaddy fresh food area on the weekend, even if only minor symptoms get tested. Big queue at Holmesglen, took two hours just to get it done.

In Victoria there have been 637 Covid deaths in Aged Care so far.

Minister for Aged Care Richard Colbeck said there was a plan to prevent this.

The Aged Care Royal Commission finds there was no Plan

Someone MUST be held accountable for this tragedy

If we have a third wave it will be due to the abject failure of Morrison in Aged Care (as reported yesterday and today)

No one has resigned over that by the way, odd isn't it?

They had a plan.

And it is always being revised and updated.

They might even write it down soon.

His personal approval rating is down 9% disapproval up 9%
Two party prefered 51.5% LNP 48.5% unchanged

Lifting of restrictions like opening pubs, restaurants and entertainment etc up 19%, up 11% on travel bans being lifted , so you can see its obvious the tide is turning.

You O'Brien fanbois will cling onto anything.
Andrews 74% approval = polls mean nothing
Andrews loses support = polls mean everything.

What you fail to see is that Dan has put himself into a win-win situation.
He can keep the lockdown going if support for it continues or
He can open up if that is where the support is.
Best of all, it leaves you O'Brien fanbois with nowhere to go. You're either going to argue against your own arguments or you're going to argue against public opinion.

That's a consequence of being stupid enough to just oppose everything Dan does just because it is Dan.
