Lynch was a balls up caused by the decision on Balme. But its history now.

We were never in the running for Cameron. Geelong can offer lifestyle advantages for a guy with Camerons interests and a proximity to family we couldn't compete with.

So accepting this, how do you suggest we address key forward?

I’d trade super hard into the draft to get the quality we need

I think we have to make hard decisions, Quicky

For mine, trading for a NQR is not the option: talent, list or cap-wise

I look at the successful NFL / NHL / NBA teams. They are prepared to do what’s necessary

Not much behind it but sounds like Something be Swapping Dogs 1st Pick for ours Next Year and Schache and/or Dale coming our way.

Would not get too worked about the Chances of it Happening yet
Look I don't mind Schache if he's virtually dirty cheap, but what do we do with their 1st this year? It will almost be late teens. We better have decent plans with our 1st and their 1st this year.

I would do a straight swap of Cox for Shacke
Cox could play ruck and swap forward with English
Shacke is much younger and talented than Cox
Looks like he is finally starting to fill out
Sad but I really don’t think we are going anywhere with Cox in our forward line
I wouldnt even swap Beames for Skacke. Bloke is scared of his own shadow.

Hell no, that's a massive downgrade. Schache is shite

Get The dogs first rounder and either
- on trade it for Brayshaw
- on trade it for gunston
- package it up with our first to try and land a higher pick

Where are the rumours of Brayshaw coming from anyway? It would be a great pick up if we could do it.

Like the Bulldogs Trade Today. Just Social Media Talk

Firstly, can’t think of anyone readily comes to mind (barring maybe Rance or a freshly retired player from this year) but anyone spring to mind trying to talk out of retirement to play a year (like Tim Watson, Stuart Dew)? Is it even worth trying at all?

Alright
Swapping first and later picks for the bulldogs makes so much sense, not completely sold on Schache but it would just be a sweetener so I don’t really mind

Yeah. He be like Steak Knives in the Trade

Hopefuly we get both

I don't mind Peter Wright and think he would be a decent option if all the big boys are unavailable.

He didn't play a game in 2020, but at the time he played his last game he was a 22 year old, over 200cm key position player with 88 goals in 66 career games, with an average of 5 marks per game. In his only 2 seasons over 15 games, he scored 58 goals in 39 games (1.5 goals per game) at an average of 5.2 marks a game. With 186 hitouts in those two seasons, he spent a fair amount of time out of the forward line which would have impacted his goal tally.

In those two seasons, he was a 19/20 year old and 20/21 year old in a crap side, with poor delivery and that looked for Lynch any opportunity they got. He was tracking well and developing into a reliable forward before his injuries came, particularly when you consider his age and level of development to that point.

If it doesn't cost the world, we'd get a talented young player with big upside who, at worst, provides a solid forward/ruck option with comparable numbers to Cox, or, at best, could develop into a total gun.

If he’s good enough, you wouldn’t ultimately lose sleep over that. I mean, wouldn’t you rather we packaged #6 and #10 in 2014 for the pick that landed the Bont?

We just need to get some serious quality through the door. Our “stars” aren’t as good as the stars of the other top echelon of teams, or they were but are now in decline.

Yes but not if we can find away to avoid it.

No way. Schache is not what we need. A bloke who is built like a key position player but plays like a soft half forward flanker is not a solution. A fit Cox with two good eyes is a far better option for the next couple of years.

Schache is a role player. Not a main man like a Lynch or Cameron

Which looking at our forward line , we have so many other capable avenues to goal up forward , i dont think its a bad thing

Was he injured this year ? - if not given their lack of fwd depth I’d have thought he would have played more games.
That would obviously be a red flag.
