Liam Pickering is a master operator but jeez he's unlikeable due to his tactics.

He's the one who told Dunkley to sign the 3 year deal last year. But as soon as a massive deal is offered he's not only pushing his client towards it but also pressuring the club who is selling by publicly saying "get the deal done".

Pickers you were the one who veto'ed the 3 year deal. Why shouldn't we respect the original agreement you made.

Makes you wonder - what % of discussions revolves around being at a successful club that’s going to look after you?

So we effectively swap 1sts and 2nds, then pick 7 and Dale for Stephenson and treloar.

Would leave us with 2 2021 first rounders. We’d need to wrangle some more points for JUH. We’d only have 39, 41 and 54

We don’t need more points to cover JUH because if we go into deficit and next year we’ve already swapped out our first and second the deficit comes off our third rounder +. It’s a pretty crazy loophole, absolute minimum this year we need to trade out our first this year and swap our future 1sts and 2nds with another club. That way we’re essentially bringing in JUH for a bunch of late picks this year and next, while still being able to hit the first round of the draft next year. Massive result

Stephenson: Bad vibes from him regarding character and off-field stuff. Dodgy ticker.

Tippa: Average player. Would be handy for a couple of years but he ain't getting any younger.

None of those would make me feel okay about losing a 23-year-old, 190cm, AA squad at 22, 2nd in our BnF at 22, overhead marking, contested bull midfielder.

2x 2021 first rounders is the price I would set. Gives us the capital next year to target a bona fide star without the baggage of Treloar and Stephenson.

Everyone wins. I know it sucks for him slightly as he was on 900k but Jesus - is a small cut worth The happiness?

I wouldn't. If I sign a contract to get paid a certain amount and I'm capable of fulfilling my end of it then I'm not taking a pay cut because someone on the other end mismanaged their budget.

My Dunkley for Saad plus a bit of pick swapping deal is fantastic, Essendon just need to turn Saad to the Bulldogs.

bit of morning viewing. People are absolutely crazy if they don’t think Tippa improves our forward line. Last year he kicked 32 goals had 18 GA’s and averaged 4.3 tackles. He’d be our best genuine small forward (not including Wally) by an absolute mile. He’s no super star and he can go missing when the bombers get smashed, like every other small forward in the league... even on his off days he’s still tackling and harrassing and he just makes things happen. We do not have a single player on our list who does that.

But in saying that, he’s 28 and he’s a small forward and not one of the top small forwards in the league so he’s not really worth that much IMO. I honestly reckon we should be asking for Two first rounders at least one being top 10 + Tippa. And I think most clubs would pay that to get Dunkley in their situation he really is that valuable right now. I don’t think Bombers will come to the party and pay that but I think any other sane list manager would to get it done. He literally will be their best mid and probably captain for the next 10 years and is everything they’re crying out for. Make them bleed for him. We’ve played the situation absolutely perfectly IMO. Just need to hold firm now.

Needs to be Essendons future first and pick 6 for Dunkley can always chuck 41 to them to even it out slightly but that has to be our bottom line. None of their players appeal at all. Yes it’s overs to Essendon nuffies but they have to pay overs.

Really interested in treloar and Stephenson. Treloar could always alter his contract if he comes across can’t he? He’s not a free agent so there isn’t as strict a rule around the contract remaining the same? Am I right here or?

If we got 6 would look to swap it with Geelong for 15 and 20. Then offer pies 15 and future second for treloar and Stephenson.

Trade 14 down with Adelaide for 22 and 33.

Get Hannan and 68 for 54.

Give Brisbane 68 for Martin.

Take picks 20, 22 and 33 to the draft (2320 points, enough to match all but pick 1)

4 players in - Martin Hannan treloar Stephenson

future first in (Essendon) future second out.

3 drafted kids in (JUH and 2 others)
