What I cannot understand or accept is Mackay being given a contract and therefore we won't have enough list spots for Luke Edwards or Tariek Newchurch.
Is terrible list management.
We will have enough list spots, what you're failing to recognise is we don't seem to want Edwards.

I haven't quite seen what everyone else has to make Schoenberg a winner.

Not to say I think he's a dud or anything, just haven't seen the same flashes most on here talk up.
Seems to have the ability to raise his eyes in congestion and hit a player outside with a long hand pass. Noticed he was doing it from the few videos I saw of him playing U/18's as well.

Have a look at u/18 champs, finished with more champion data ranking points than Rowell or Anderson. As said previously by others needs to work on his tank , but will become an old fashioned ball magnet with poise imo.

Not if we don't rate them that highly.

We know they didn't rate Edwards highly enough to even nominate him as a F/S selection. They seem to be willing to take Newchurch as a Cat B rookie, but don't rate him highly enough to match a bid for him in the ND.

There's no problem in keeping an existing player, if they don't rate the alternatives.

AFL
F Jones Himmelberg Schoenberg
HF Sloane Fogarty Hollands Pick 1
C Hamill Laird Sholl
HB Smith McAsey Milera
B McPherson Talia Doedee
Ruck O'Brien Crouch Hatley
Inter - Walker, Keays(Rookie), McAdam, Brown

SANFL
F Newchurch (Cat B) Frampton Stengle
HF Davis Lynch McHenry
C Seeds O'Connor Pick 9
HB Worrell Butts (Rookie) MCkay
B Gollant Borlase(40) Kelly
Ruck Strachan (Rooke) Murphy (Rookie Pick)
Inter - Pick 22, Pick 23 ,Pick 56, Rookie Pick Cat B
It's highly unlikely that we'll be using pick 56, or taking a 2nd Cat B rookie. Those positions in your SANFL line up will need to be filled by SANFL fill-in players.

Lynch will be in the AFL team, not the SANFL.

Other than that, I think you're probably fairly close.

Yeah, I'd like to see Schoenberg and McHenry in there. Has no draft picks starting, either.

Kelly is the obvious cut, but no one else leaps out. ... Tex?

Reasonable, we haven't drafted anyone yet.

This article popped up on afl.com. I don't necessarily agree with all the selections, but still a reasonable team on paper

I absolutely hate Sholl at half forward.

I also hate to a lesser degree Jones as a forward pocket.

I like Hamill on the wing.

I don't like Himmelberg, Tex, Fog and Lynch in that lineup all being in the forward line.

I also dislike Kelly being in that side ahead of Shoenberg. I know, different player, but Kelly is a waste of a spot. Its a reasonable effort though.

Jones in FP can at least play a part in midfield rotations

I don't know how seriously they it take when picking these teams

We can't play both Tex & Lynch for team balance along with Fog & EH who must play unless injured or in really poor form. IMO, Tex is the one who should make way & captain the Sanfl.

Kelly should be a break glass back-up if we lose plenty of experience from the backline due to injuries.

Schoenberg must play most games... as a HFF with increased rotations on ball. Should only not play if we need to manage his workload or few games with poor form to get a refresh.

I would prefer Hamill mainly of a HBF til he settles, but with both Smith & Milera they are all capable of rotating between wing & HBF. Importantly we need all 3 in the side to improve our offensive ball movement.

FWIW I reckon many are underrating Edwards. Seems a taller clone of his old man, super composed, always has time, good vision, takes tight situations and turns them comfortable, good enough disposal, balanced in terms of hands and feet, ok overhead, low center of gravity for his height. Will be a pity for us to miss him but understand if he goes in the open draft and considering the picks we have and spots available.
With Crows only taking 3-4 picks in the ND and not planning to use late picks (where Luke is rated), the club probably thinks it's easier to not nominate. Plus based on previous experience, we've learnt that we shouldn't pick a player by their name (Jarman, J Edwards, Dear). The Edwards family were also upset that Crows nominating Jackson meant other clubs didn't look at him? This way, all other clubs can have a genuine go at him and no one can complain.

I think you'll find from what I've heard Hamill was drafted with the hope he could eventually play on the ball once he grew into his body.

That's the team I'd like to see, but I think we are taking Thilthorpe, how would he fit in?

Walker has to go for one.

Would hope so when his body is up to it. For now I would be utilising his talents more on the outside.

Can we delist a player mid season and then select a player in the mid season draft? Or do we have to carry an empty spot to have a mid season pick?
No... and yes**.

**Note that you can also use the mid-season drafts to replace a player on the LTI list.
