Is he really standing up for principals or is he just trying to build a populist Donald Trump-style persona?

I would not vote for a politician that doesn't understand that health advice, and particularly on subjects such as medication and vaccinations, should not be politicised and made part of the culture wars. If I wanted health advice from a failed furniture salesman I would have asked him.
If you can seperate the issues and leave the science to the dr and professors..

as again, I’m no way endorsing what he’s saying, just the right of a politician to have a seperate view to his party. And one that is prepared to go it alone over the issue..

As I personally dislike ‘yesmen’ and think Parliament House would be better off without them.

Dutton’s visa news has zero to do with CRT and was only mentioned to deliberately misrepresent my original argument on the subject to attack it.

Still don't see the strawman. There are people out there, including some on here, that things like CRT and wokeness are destroying society. SBTDOTB simply was illustrating that there are real issues to worry about before thinking CRT is causing the downfall of anything.

controversial call here, and in no way am I endorsing any of his policies but we need more people like him in politics, ones who are going to stand up for what they believe in..

He might be crazy but at least he has a spine and morals..

interesting debate principle over loyalty.. who would you rather vote for?
Morals? You jest.

His office chief of staff has an AVO out against him, and has been subject to numerous complaints.

PM asked Craig Kelly to remove senior aide who was subject of complaints by interns | Craig Kelly | The Guardian

Some of them as young as 16.

He is an unmitigated bastard who pushes acts like his s**t doesn't stink. He is the very face of many of the underlying problems that the parliament are currently grappling with.

Just going back to the generational wealth discussion, I have some mates that are second generation Aussies who’s parents came here from war torn Europe with nothing and worked their arses off so their kids each had a house. Do people have an issue with that? Or is the discussion more about ‘old money’ families?

Pretext: It is fine if we agree to disagree btw.

It’s textbook straw man. You cannot treat the merit of those CRT arguments by linking it to something completely irrelevant.

It’ll be like this:
China is committing genocide against its Muslim population, but that doesn’t seem matter to those criticising Dutton’s visa scheme.

Should be treated as the separate issues that they are. We can complain about the weighting of an issue separately.

I never saw that and well there you go, another Polly is a piece of excrement in my eyes.. not much has changed, as I actively dislike most of them..

Is it posible to say I dislike Craig Kelly and he is crazy as a cut snake yet simultaneously say I like the fact the he had conviction to walk away from the party over an issue?

His final issue was he wouldn't fire his COS, so not in my eyes. But they are your eyes, not mine.

No, a strawman argument is inventing is attributing opinions to another party that they don't hold as a pretext to attack them. For example, claiming the ALP or Democrats are all socialists and want to impose the same policies as Venezuela. SBTDOTB has simply pointed out another issue that is in the news today and making the assertion that it is far worse than anything to do with CRT. You might be able to claim false equivalence but it is not a strawman.

I look at the people like James Packer. Inherited billions, has had literally everything he ever wanted given to him and acts like a complete campaigner to the whole world. Same with Murdoch's brats, it is like a form of royalty, nothing earned just happened to have the right parents.

if it’s because he didn’t want to fire his handy feely cos, that’s a seperate issue.

So what’s the answer? Putting a cap on how much can be inherited? That’d just have the mega rich using offshore bank accounts to protect their money. I know they do that already but I just can’t see how it would work. Maybe an extremely high tax on billionaires, to the point where it’s not worth being a billionaire. Like how much of a psycho do you need to be to want more then $1B? After $1B money almost becomes and it’s just about ego.

We eat them is the only answer..

That exactly what he did. He even stated it in his very next post:

Imagine ending up siding with a copper like Dutton because something something wokesters.

I dislike Dutton and most of his policies, but also dislike CRT. SLF brazenly attributed views to others, like me, to attack my arguments on crt, without even knowing my original stance on Dutton.

I have learned to accept the false equivalences, probably because I’m a culprit on that front.

Here’s a bold idea, maybe people can dislike both and not use petty strawman tactics to elicit a response.

You said yourself the other day that CRT was what meant you'd support the Coalition over Labor,/Greens.

Thus you support Dutton and this kind of thing.
