I think they are different players and both equally as good at their role, I'd personally have them ranked the same. Green is a lot more inside than Cerra. You need both types of mids to have a good team but for whatever reason, Richmond supporters seem to really really value contested ball winning. Probably because Bolton is an excellent outside orientated mid already and their game plan has never really been focused on field kicking as much as others.

At the same time, I think Freo supporters probably dont value the contested ball winning as much as Cerra's kicking because we've had the best contested player in the competition for 8 years and poor skills. Watching Cerra & Mundy kick the footy is like pr0n for us

I think most Tigers prefer Green over Cerra because we need a coal face inside bull more than an outside/in mid at the moment. Would love both

Yeah definitely. Him feeding Bolton (should he re-sign) would be scary and is definitely a better combination than Cerra/Bolton.

Only difference is experience IMO. Cerra still biting off too much here and there and doesnt weight them like Mundy can (they are almost all bullets)- that comes with time. Kicking and decision is not going to be what holds him back from being a top 10 player, it's a ridiculous thing to say he's overrated on

and we'd rather not pay pick 6 & 15 for a guy who was pick 5 originally, and who while being a good young player is nowhere near the level of other '2 first round pick' players like neale, cameron, treloar, kelly. And even then, most '2 first round pick' trades have ended up duds for the club that gave them up.

The trouble for Freo is having two Melb clubs at the bottom of the ladder.

More often than not ..the OOC player gets to where he wants to go. The AFL clubs generally understand that its in their interest to get less and give more. Its not often that a Martin situation happens...

In general , id like to see players that are OOC be FA. Thats not happening anytime soon but really it might be better if FA was reduced but Cerra has given 4 years... its probably fair to hope for me service than 4 years.

If Cerra say I will just go to another bottom club like North or Haw ... then that outcomes is not ideal for Freo or most in the AFL. For this reason I suspect you get less than you hope

Pick 7 as it stands is almost bang on value for Cerra right now. There is no way RFC add another 1st or 2nd rounder unless there is further shuffling of picks both ways.

When talking top 10 picks, clubs dont give additional early picks to make up the maybe 1-3 picks away from true value that might occur if you had any pick at your disposal to trade.

Cerra might be worth pick 3-5, Pick 7 will be considered close enough. if we had pick 3-8, that pick would be traded for him and at this stage, 7 seems best case.

Prestia was far more established, proven and a better player when traded for pick 6.

This year pick 7 will end up the 9th best player.

Yes but darcy and daicos realistically aren't available to you or 16 other clubs so the pick sliding back 2 spots doesn't affect freos draft plans 1 bit.

Also any picks given back get pushed back and even further with any academy selection matches after pick 20....but apparently that doesn't matter.

Still you need to factor in where possibly a pick will land.

Last year is an outlier but the first round went to pick 26.

This year Darcy and Daicos will go in the top few picks.

Therefore, pick 7 will end up pick 9.

Pick 18 may end up in the early 20s.
