Cerra averages 2.6 tackles per game this season. One or fewer tackles in 7 games this season.

Let's not talk him up as some sort of tackling machine.
Adam can stick a tackle if he needs to, Fisher was brushed aside & sidestepped by 19 yr old with I preseason? Admittedly Brauhn was a Pick 12 last year, but surly that tells us something about his attitude, competitiveness and hardness at the ball?

If the rumour about Ladhams is correct, I’d be more than happy with that.

I think Ladhams is an absolute gun wasting away at Port, the rotation of TDK and Ladhams would be sublime. Two good ruckman who can have an impact around the ground and rest forward when need be.

Not talking about Fisher, though it's amusing you talk him down on one hand yet still put him forward as though he'll be of interest to Fremantle in exchange for superstar Cerra.

Talk about sitting on the fence.

Cerra is a good young footballer and I'll be happy to see him wearing navy blue in 2022 if it eventuates, but why people feel the need to talk opposition players up as something they're not is beyond me.

He's not a superstar. And it's absolutely bizarre that you're now putting him forward as some sort of hard nut or tackling machine which just isn't the case.

Not saying it isn't our greatest area of concern... I've even said myself it is a huge area of concern.

But I don't think it's by the length of the Flemington straight...

Weiters goes down and we are screwed. Jones too. TDK is still developing. We are in desperate need of 2 KPDs and a ruck/forward swingman. Pitto is depth at best. Jones is 31 start of next year with an interrupted preseason.

We just don't have the personnel there. With the midfield, there's a lot of scope for improvement. Cripps is better than what we've seen the last 2 years under Teague. A new coach, with a reinvigorated mindset could be all he needs to get back to his best.

Dow has taken some steps forward this year and Kennedy has improved. Again a new coach should help them elevate their areas of improvement further.

This is why we must not go overboard to get Cerra here. They will want our 1st round pick. But they also have their sights on SPS as well...

I absolutely believe our KPD's need a shake up. Id absolutely replace Plow with Gov, and I think we need and should be chasing a KPD to replace Jones and play with Weitering.

That’s because Saads offensive prowess and natural instinct was nullified tactically I feel, esp after the first 6-8 games. He was pretty immense the first 2 months, then his role changed to something less natural I reckon and from what it looks like. Either way, Saad and Cerra are two different players - cannot compare.

SPS needs to be the pawn in that deal and we need to be smart about not trading the farm for him. He’s good right now, but not excellent. And it’s 50/50 whether he will find the next gear with us. If we had a trade period of Cerra, a Hewitt-type signing/2nd mid, Ladhams (seems there’s talk) and a KPD/KPF depth signing - that’s addressing a fair few needs. Use the draft and rookie pool to fill it out.

There will be other names on our list floated for trade especially with wholesale changes being made in the footy dept. All eyes are on us, sliding doors moment.

I think Saad has been good for us. It's the way we play that has blunted him in a lot of games.

IMO, we have 3 untouchables. Weitering, Walsh and Harry. Everyone is expendable in trades.

Depends what you are getting. Can't throw away talented players because we think the grass is greener looking at potentially lesser players in better setups.

Fisher and or SPS would be the sweeteners in this trade if they’re of any interest to Fremantle.
Not talking Fisher down at all, just stating fact, his performance on the park today was obvious to whomever watch the game.
As for Cerra he’s a well balanced midfielder, with good endurance , can kick a football and has a bright upside nothing more yet.

Use any of our 2022 First or Fisher or SPS to make a deal for Cerra...

Then we could try and pry out a Bailey Smith, Josh Dunkley type or other star mid with pick 6...
If this draft is rated by the list team and the Dow rumours of (he may want to go?) are true we could trade for Richmond's pick...
Richmonds 3rd rounder?

Not sure Paddy has much trade value unfortunately.

Big preseason training as that pure on baller with a fat tank - see how he goes under the new coach.

SPS and Dow have by far been the biggest let downs this year hey. Really hoped they’d have their break out year but unfortunately are yet to cement their spot.

Frustrating.

O’Brien however - that wing spot should be his to lose from now on. Gorgeous kick of the footy aha x faurk

Re SPS, yeah big let down but why? Really confusing as he appears to have pissed someone off. Hoping a shake up at the club will see him get back on track.

Don't agree that Dow has been such a let down though. Sure it's been slow going but his best season to date. Agree, needs a huge pre season to impact games for longer periods and improve his defensive side.

Both best 22 for mine.

Maybe I had higher expectations for Dow aha 👉👈🥺

SPS has played a handful of high possession games in the midfield (none within the last 2 seasons). So we know he is capable.

He's played like 3 games with any stints in the midfield whatsoever in the last 2 seasons. A full season at HB and then thrown around like a yoyo till he was just dropped (finally). Just needed some settled time in the midfield to get back into imo will be a great player in a new system. Whether thats a new Carlton system or a new club we'll have to wait and find out.
