What if Cripps isn't driving the standards and is the one undermining

Many here seem to think SOS walks on water. Why don't one of the people who apparently have SOS as a contact ask him what he thinks of Cripps. I know he thinks it was a dreadful mistake making him captain and said 4 years ago what a few people are just starting to notice about Cripps.

My feel is that there is zero consistency in how things are trained amongst the entire group! LOB, SPS continue the good ole karate kid crane technique staying 5m away from their man corralling, others go in tentatively, whilst other go in and tackle and put physical pressure. The entire list looks out of synch with one another, mids are never in synch with the forwards, defence has no clue where the mids will be half the time. Our coaches biggest weakness of the last 10 years is to get the entire playing list playing to the same hymn book and that's our biggest failing. Our assistant line coaching has been so weak they forget they need to communicate with one another and appropriately link the other lines and overall game plan to what their teaching their players within their domain.
Couldn’t agree more, spot on 👍

What did you say out of interest?

In retrospect, I probably got a bit too technical/nerdy about it (was for a medical position). Went off on a tangent about an ovoid structure with a trabeculated surface, green/grassy apex, often served sliced in the axial plane... But it all worked out in the end. :$

One of those questions designed to surprise/shock.

I think the situation is a bit more complicated than that mate, SOS chose to quit, he wasn't pushed out the door, clearly he had problems and issues working with Liddle, and that is okay, these things happen in the corporate world all the time.
Both seem to be very headstrong types.

Will admit it was poor form by Liddle to go behind SOS's back and interview players from other clubs like Papley though, can see why Steve felt his position was undermined.

Still I am grateful that Liddle has helped put us back in a very healthy financial position that we can finally get rid of our income from those toxic pokie machines (something I think should be on the agenda in the next 6 months)

If someone is leaving the club, think it's only fair to mention the good work they did at the club as well as the bad.

I come to bury Caesar, not to praise him.

Yeah let's sack the CEO that's put Carlton in its strongest financial position... Ever.

Makes sense 🤣
I don't understand this logic. If the review found that he was a major part of the on-field issues, does putting us in a good financial position excuse that? You know what would put us in an even stronger financial position? Being good at football.

You know what else can GAGF - this emoji rumour bullshit. Absolute tripe.

And any of you lot who buy into it and encourage it can GAGF too. I'm looking squarely at the peanuts who repost it in the no discussion thread too - peak nuffies.

Personally think the pineapple news is a little exciting.

Appreciate what Liddle did off-field, though I don't know much of it is fortuitous. There's a lot of smoke indicating Liddle tends to stick his oar in where it's not wanted or needed, so good riddance if so.

Pineapple - Hawaiian pizzas. Large Hawaiian is on the money?

It's just a pine cone you can eat to me.

To be fair, I am not sure if you or many others were aware of how big a whole financially we were in after that jerk Elliott and his cronies left us in, plus the crippling penalties we got from the AFL for 20 years, it's literally taken us 20 years to get back in the black, so to speak financially, and although ai believe The Great Dick Pratt played a big/major part saving our club, Liddle and the work he has done for the club has really put us in a sound financial position going forwards that touchwood means we will never be forced to rely upon wealthy billionaire benefactors again, esp he who must not be named (Pokies King)

I get why people don't like the guy, but you can't say he has not been great for the club from a financial point of view.
