Buckleys coaching tenure outside 2 good years in 2018 and 2019 was poor and he got sacked...has not done an apprenticeship to improve elsewhere.

I'd prefer Bucks out of those two tbh, but more importantly, I'm reserving judgement until we know what the process was that has led to Lyon, if we do indeed sign him. The way he spoke last week about former players contacting him etc, and now Diesel joining the board, there is a real "boy's club" feel about it.

Lyon will improve us dramatically, but I would only give him 3, maybe 4 years, with the proviso of, if he doesn't make top 4 and or ever drops from that, then move him on

You’re welcome to your opinion but I remember clearly when Kouta was holding the club over a barrel demanding mega bucks contracts which then hamstrung the club when trying to build a decent supporting cast.

i..e versus Hawks and Cats in subsequent years where Captains and other senior players took “unders” to give the club the best possible chance of success.

IMHO most definitely exactly what we don’t need right now.

I.e. great footballer who milked the club for all he could get.
