Prime aged wingman has zero interest league-wide.

Says a bit.

Similar to 4 out of 14 of our trade outs from last year being picked up by other clubs.
If other clubs aren't interested in them then maybe North shouldn't be either.

Frog has two problems. He's ****ing slow and no one wants slow players. His only point of difference is a defensive attitude and a willingness to run, teams would rather draft a kid and try to hammer that attitude into them. Not a lot of slow wingmen out there and he's not a starting best 22 centre square player for any team in the league, not even the 18th team.

Wait, just thought of a third problem. He was injured this year and when he did play he didn't score a single point, he barely tackled and he won less contested ball than his average. He's probably at his lowest value since being drafted.

Good in theory, but what happens to his salary? Can you delist a player mid year to clear a list spot?

What if we kneecap him? Then he’s on LTI List?

Wouldn’t know, but you wouldn’t be exploring your options unless you know someone is interested.

Or your current team has told you there may not be a contract.

Seems like a decent person. Hopefully he finds a contract somewhere.

Anyone looking for established players would be considering them.

More positional.
We have options back in the midfield, so he didn't get in there. + added young blokes.
Midfield is his his best position. Thats why 2020 was a spike year.
He has been ranked elite for his wing work in the past.
Sleevo, Bailey, Powell laz etc are getting minutes now as wingman.
So he is playing less in there.
If a club needing mid depth takes him he will perform for them.
He is much better than he is rated on BF.

Dumont would be real value for a team who already has paid for their shiny baubles but have realised they need defensive accountability and consistency to climb the ladder and win the big one.

He is a big bodied mid who would have had a much better career on paper if we didn't have one of the best contested beasts playing in the middle over the last decade.

Criminally underrated player.

Dumont would be real value for a team who already has paid for their shiny baubles but have realised they need defensive accountability and consistency to climb the ladder and win the big one.

He is a big bodied mid who would have had a much better career on paper if we didn't have one of the best contested beasts playing in the middle over the last decade.

The idea that Cunnington has cost Trent his career as an on-baller is revisionism. Trent had most of 2020 to prove what he could do in the midfield without Cunnington and hardly covered himself in glory. He used to dominate VFL teams in the midfield but he isn't particularly strong, agile or clever compared to your average best 22 AFL midfielder. There's a reason why we use him on the wing and that's because he doesn't have the attributes of a high quality AFL midfielder.

In supercoach terms (it’s actually helpful in this case because the 3300 point scaling accounts for the shorter games reasonably well) his 2020 was an outlier, largely thanks to his more prominent role with our injuries. He was bound to regress a bit as he returned to the wing. I’d like to think his true value is around his 2018-19 performance, but the reality is it’s probably a bit lower.

I'd say he’ll have a job next year one way or another. We’d be silly not to retain him if he doesn’t get a good deal elsewhere, and I can think of 4-5 lists where he’d fit in nicely.

Probably not. I think this forum underrates Atley horribly. I'd rather see a couple of younger blokes get first crack at those general defender roles in any case.

I heard somewhere on radio last week, that he was apparently fairly reluctant to leave Adelaide, partner settled with work and possible after footy opportunities lined up for him too. The big confirmation was that someone saw him buying full year's membership to the local pool in Adelaide!

Keep in mind Talia is very much a full back, taz is primarily a fb but can play other spots in a pinch. We really need to target a second/third talk type. If we miss. Walker is getting games
