If we are looking at a FA like Maynard and trading in players we may want to keep a the guys on the rookie list and upgrade them next year to minimize the picks required at next years draft.
Currently only 8 uncontracted players on main list.

I think you'll find Keays is a FA. Having been delisted by Brisbane, he is now a FA every time he comes out of contract.

Seems like there is just an overwhelming amount of inside midfielders in the comp that some pretty decent footballers just can't break through or unable to get the type of contract they might have once got.

Doesn't that depend on how many draft picks we're taking to the draft?

I'd take/keep all bar Dumont before I'd use pick 75 and or 80.

Clubs trading their #1 pick is very rare.

We would need to offer crazy overs & imo that would do us more damage to our rebuild

Especially when there is cleary a number one pick.

I think we might have if we had pick one in 2018 as we would have wanted Lukosius ahead of Walsh being local.

He was a NSW Scholarship player. Technically signed with us as a 16 year old and wasnt available to other clubs once he signed.

I've always placed a ? against the value of pure accumulating inside grunts. Theoretically they make sense, but in practice, if they don't have a decent 3 wood, are they worth the cap space?
