Your taxes at work.

Liberal Senator for SA Alex Antic ranting against Australia's anti freedom covid rules with foreign journos. This time with Donald Trump's former Chief Strategist and 'The Real Voice of America' Steve Bannon.

What a Chump.

And Christenson on Alex Jones show.
This is a serious nefarious movement.
Anyone who votes for these troublemakers is a total moron.
The issue is worldwide. The Libs and UAP are basically GOP clones now.
And being paid no doubt.
Coal, oil, anti climate change, Putin, Crypto, maximum disruption to Democracies all connected and more.

One infected person attends a High School reunion and 27 people around the town get infected. Shows how easy the virus can spread. It probably does not help when one of those infected is a former Premier with a busy round of public engagements and private meetings.

If only this virus could be conditioned to attack only the unvaccinated.

If only the vaccine could be conditioned to fukc you up…oh wait

So the vaccinated aren't spreading it?

Already stated above but probably lost among SP4M4L07 posts, as we are approaching 90% vaccinated in adults it's kind of obvious that those that spread it are at a high % vaccinated.

Doesn't change the fact that vaccinated transmission is less than unvaccinated, vaccinated hospitality and mortality rates are lower.

I know it's kind of your shtick to have contrary opinions for reasons but carn

On the subject of vaccines Novavax have recently announced that they have developed a one jab Covid/ influenza vaccine. It will be trialed in Australia during the coming winter. I guess they have selected Australia because our flu season will start before the northern hemisphere.

If it works it means you get your annual flu shot and a Covid booster at the same time.

Oh goodie goodie gumdrops.

Yes, you should ask questions. That is how knowledge is gained, shared and grown.

But social media platforms are echo chambers. Not the place where you will those questions answered with facts in a nuanced and balanced way.

When some anonymous person with a piano playing cat avatar on twitter, facebook or, the Big Footy Forum says they have done 'research' what they really mean is they found a video which they watched with little or no objectivity.

They came across something in their algorithm manipulated feed, something that spiked their implicit emotional biases and they then subconsciously applied their emotional filters and ended up with a predetermined one paragraph answer which they called 'proof'.

And that is how rhetorical statements, with little or no basis in fact becomes the scientific 'proof' that is shared amongst hundreds of thousands of like minded souls on the Internet.

And how we end up with thousands of otherwise normal people marching alongside brain dead gormless fooks with 'Elect Trump 2024' banners and red ensigns claiming that they 'want their freedoms back'.

And you know this how ? You sit there behind your keyboard analysing others & how they get their knowledge. I didn’t know we had a Betazoid on this forum. Where do you get your brain food, public library ? Your “big” words are impressive, you should run for “brains” of this outfit. Ps. Do you work for Pfizer(fizzer) or have shares…. ?

Isn't it great that SA was able to keep the population safe and save potentially hundreds or thousands of lives? That's the point you were making right?

Yes like all the other places in the world where Covid has taken out 20 - 30% of the population. Luckily we were spared that.

The best bit is in trying to take you down he's actually described OGC

"Adults who have been fully vaccinated against SARS-CoV-2 can carry the same viral load of the delta variant as those who are unvaccinated, a preliminary analysis of UK data suggests.1"

In terms of transmission I'm not sure why you'd argue that when it's obvious world wide that vaccination is not making a difference. Having a vaccinated only event as we saw just last week here in SA is not going to stop it spreading and blaming unvaccinated for transmission is ridiculous again as evidenced last week.

I also enjoy you guys telling him to get vaccinated because it works and at the same time talking about getting 3rd and 4th boosters lol. Let people be, the 0.03% chance of dying from or or less if he's young is really not worth this vaccination only shit and ostracising of people.

We are seeing vaccinated people spread to vaccinated people at vaccinated only events.

You can keep blaming everything on the unvaccinated all you want but we have a situation where people are scared of the bogeyman.

You're vaxxed, the guys you knock around with are vaxxed, the places you go are almost all Vax only. You can't catch it off a pizza. Move ahead with your life. The unvaxxed are no longer the risk they've been painted as, scarred governments and power tripping bureaucrats are. If you're looking for the enemy of getting back to normal, look at them. And the mirror.

It's bizarre how the zealots are so eager to punish, like really punish people for not making the same personal medical decision as them. They don't want them to have a place in society at all, they must be destroyed professionally, personally and excluded from all society. I'll never again wonder how the Germans got to the point of tagging the Jews.

There's many things in that article that really don't back up your agenda.

Yes like all the other places in the world where Covid has taken out 20 - 30% of the population. Luckily we were spared that.

We've had 4 Covid deaths for 1.7 million people living in SA, so 2.25 deaths per million.

The USA has had 2394 deaths per million people. Literally 1000x the death rate. The restrictions weren't perfect but we basically lived normal lives for the vast majority of the pandemic so far because of them very few deaths compared to the rest of the world.

There's many things in that article that really don't back up your agenda.

Yep. It is actually is an argument in favour of greater level of ongoing community restrictions and strongly refuting the simplistic 'let it rip' agenda.

This is what happens when those with an agenda go cherrypicking with Dr Google to find articles that they *think* supports their agenda because they fail to look beyond the summary and headline. I suspect it is because he does not understand how vaccines work or their primary (but far from exclusive) role in combatting pandemics.

The article quoted by the poster above merely summarises one aspect of the clinical research of others now emerging about vaccines to combat the emerging strains of covid-19. Specifically:

Vaccination reduces the risk of delta variant infection and accelerates viral clearance (i.e. reduces the risk of severe illness and hospitalisations) . Nonetheless, fully vaccinated individuals with breakthrough infections have peak viral load similar to unvaccinated cases and can efficiently transmit infection in household settings, including to fully vaccinated contacts. Host–virus interactions early in infection may shape the entire viral trajectory.

In summary:

Although vaccines remain highly effective at preventing severe disease and deaths from COVID-19, vaccination on its own is not sufficient to prevent transmission of the delta variant in household settings with prolonged exposures. Our findings highlight the importance of community studies to characterise the epidemiological phenotype of new SARS-CoV-2 variants in increasingly highly vaccinated populations. Continued public health and social measures to curb transmission of the delta variant remain important, even in vaccinated individuals.
