We have been finals and big game bottlers our entire afl existence and we have had a cornes the entire time these two these align perfectly

Did we recruit them to 'wedge' Gra Gra in the hope of shutting him up?

In fairness they both contributed in their own different ways and they're both premiership players for us.

I have no time for Kane but he is still a club champion. The record books clearly show that.

He is not a journalist. Being a media "personality" does not make someone a journalist. Kane is a shock jock, nothing more, nothing less.

So he's trolling the supporter base of the club he played for? I think its more likely that he supports the guy that gives him an inside word and helps give him content for his various TV and radio appearances. Nothing more, nothing less.

He freely admits he models himself on Colin Cowherd — which is an odd choice, but ok. Only thing is Cowherd doesn’t flip-flop every 3 seconds and sticks to his hot take guns no matter what.

Surprise, surprise.

Kane backing the bloke that prolonged his career (by about 4 years) - which enables him to go around calling himself the '300 game legend of the Port Adelaide Football Club'. Not to mention his brother's employment hinges on Hinkley remaining in the job (and Kane's access to the inner sanctum).

Lol. Kane being able to talk objectively about Port is right up there with McGuire's ability to be objective when talking anything Collingwood.

The problem I'm currently finding with Kane's port related comments is how damaging they have the potential to be to the club's long term decision making.

Ever since Tredrea got booted from the station for not getting vaccinated, Kane has become the primary and arguably only noteworthy Port Adelaide voice in the media. Meaning that everything he says is viewed as internal insight from neutrals and outsiders. Whatever he says about Port is normally in disconnection from his common shock jock type of presentation, and instead feels as though its coming from a place of genuine thought.

If it wasn't for the pedestal the media puts his voice on than I wouldn't give two shits if he wanted to defend Ken. But the truth is, fans of any team will always look for an identifiable bias in an individual's voice and expose it. Kane has done little to hide this bias and speaks on Port with far more generosity. Even with the occasional exception, he never traces his own Port critiques to actual accountability for the individuals responsible, clearly not as eager to jeopardize people's jobs like he does with other clubs.

Not to mention the amount of close minded people who allow their resentment for Kane to become a resentment for Port, meaning that we unfortunately get a lot of neutrals as well as his own fellow journalists pat him on the back for not going as hard on a team that they actively want to see fail.

Dark times for AFL journalism in general.

Like no doubt many I thought Kornes was a selfish campaigner for pulling the pin mid season to become a 5 minute fireman, leaving the club a player short on the list.

As a tv journo I see him as a new millenium version of Kenny Cunnington, ie a `shock jock,' albeit with a wider audience than KG.

On the plus side both he and Chadbro played in our first AFL premiership team.
On the negative they are sons of one of the most arrogant clowns to ever pull on a jumper in this state, and clearly the apple hasn't fallen far from the tree for either.

I will celebrate wildly when kern and koch both disappear from Alberton, and nearly as much when it finally becomes a Corne's free zone!
