Gotta say though 63 free kicks for an entire game is absolutely in no way shape or form a good thing. Far too over officiated both ways.
The AFL is lucky it was high scoring because if the game was a snore fest there’s no doubt that metric would’ve been talked about the all of next week.

It would never happen in a Grand Final, so why should it happen in round 10?

They were due to have a loss TBF. Been up for a while. Both their losses have been by 2 goals or less. Doesn't change much in the scheme of things for them really. They are having trouble beating us ATM however which would be frustrating Fages.

His movement seems really strong now to and his growing into other positions on the field which is only for the good of the team. Really impressed with him this whole year, another great game from him

Only played 3 quarters of the game too. Definitely managed

O'Meara's best game for the season! Did some really nice things.

Was getting a little frustrated at the end, we missed a few easy chances to ice the cake. Got there in the end at least!

Lewis with 4 against the best defender in the league. Don't even think it was his best game. He's going to maul some defences in upcoming years!

Lost centre clearances 19-12. It felt like we won a lot of our clearances in defence where we outnumbered the lions.

Hawks 2022 remind me of Lions 2018.
Not always getting the result, but playing a style of football that suits the group and looks like it will get better and better.

Not saying we'll match their progression (see below) but ...

If we can nail the upcoming draft then I agree that everything seems to be ticking in that direction. The cherry on top would somehow be to nail a gun free agent soonish.

Our ability to playing smarter at stoppage and defend against their ruck dominance (don’t try to shark them, just prevent their on ballers getting easy access) meant we cleared a lot after pressuring them into fumbling.

Helps when not every midfielder wants to hunt the pill all the time. Shiels as a defensive minded mid gives us better balance.
