Hence why I hold out some hope Koch has the silver bullet of Alistair Clarkson already waiting in the wings. Hinkley isn't getting sacked now only for the club to embark on the arduous search for a replacement. Hinkley is only getting sacked now if there's a highly marketable, bankable replacement already tied down.

Incidentally this is why I don't think they're sacking him. They've shown time and time again they won't do the hard things, so the idea they'd be proactively seeking out the best out of contract coach while their boy is still in the job is laughable. It's far more likely Koch's hiding under a pile of coats waiting for this all to blow over. His "Ken needs to turn things around" comment from the other day just seems like stalling for time, just keep putting off having to make a decision and hope it gets taken out of your hands by Ken winning even though we won't even make finals.

Now the club is really being torn apart. The supporters want Ken gone. The players want him to stay. The board is non-existant.

I have never felt so disconnected with the club I love. I feel like it's been privatised by Ken and the players.

Ken is tearing the club apart and he doesnt care. The club has given him 10 years but that's not enough for him.

the "you cant get rid of ken because you wont get clarkson' nonsense is beside the point, just get rid of ken, if its jane doyle to replace then so be it, but step 1 is Sack Hinkley step 2 is find the best coach available (which by the way isnt clarkson)

The good thing about this pressure is that it means there is now pressure and expectation on the last 2 games.

Which means we will probably lose them.

Which makes us more likely to stick with Ken.

The best result possible is Clarkson coach, Hinkley assistant. Hear me out…

-We will be paying Hinkley anyway
-Hinkley may be more willing to split his income over 2 or 3 years so the program doesn’t have to tighten its belt
-Hinkley has a decade of IP to pass onto Clarkson like no one else
-Some head coaches would fear the influence and possible undermining by a former coach- not Clarkson
-Hinkley would be as invested in our success as any assistant ever as success for Port in the next 2 or 3 years would look like Clarkson finishing what he started
-The players and world would view it as a man who really wants success for his boys stepping aside for the greater good and his legacy would be preserved

The “good cop/bad cop” thing Hinkley and Clarkson could run is exactly what this playing group needs- some “mongrel” that only Clarkson can inject in the nurturing environment that Hinkley is good at is the ideal way to get this group to the level required to win flags

I feel like Koch can be convinced to get rid of Ken, but it will take more than one person to get rid of Koch. Cut Ken now, then move into the task of the rest of the board including Koch. In an ideal world, Clarkson could lead that charge, or at least put him in his place.

I think Koch could be ruthless enough to do it. But it takes different methods to bring out that streak in different people. For Koch that would be appealing to his ego - making the Hinkley decision a choice between a legacy of failure, or (potentially) a legacy of premiership success. Koch is a bee's whisker away from his legacy being the former.

Re Koch, the difference between now and 3 years ago is there's people on the board now who dead set want Hinkley gone, and could provide the shove he needs to get it done.

Maybe we have been targeting the dirt and not the broom, if kern does survive, which is unfortunately looking likely, plus he obviously has a hide even thicker than his limited brain capacity, we need Stickerman to put up Sack Koch signs in prominent locations on Port road, and people like Looney and his mate Dirty (kudos guys) to wear, or hold up similar signs at the Showdown.

Allkok and no balls has got away with being the limpest wrister to ever hold the role of president of the once mighty PAFC for way too long now, and I strongly suspect the right amount of public pressure could see it become all too hard for the weak campaigner and his ginormous ego, and hopefully he would disappear back to Sydney forever.

One can only hope!

I do have to make the point though, that anyone considering stickers, signs etc to be careful where and how they are placed. As it will be seen as, and definitely reported in the media as vandalism committed by braindead, toothless thugs that have no respect. And as such would be a detriment to our cause, and gleefully jumped on by kane the firequencher queen and other insipid hinkley enablers. Things like coreflutes tied to a structure in a way as not to actually damage property could be a more practical option.

I can't picture Killer Cahill sitting on the board twiddling his thumbs while the Port Adelaide club that he grew up with is being evaporated right before his eyes.

He will be the one driving the need for change and I would be dumbfounded if he has not contacted Clarkson himself.
